Ihsan Safi Md's Online Review Report Card

The nurses are constantly changing and are rude. Would not recommend him mainly for the staff he employs. Not professional at all.

I usually don't write a reviews But I think this warranted a review. He is rude and cares nothing for his patients only money. Tried to request a copy of my medical records and I was denied access to my records. They told me if I wanted my records that I would have to pay for them, that nothing was free anymore. Basically I waste my time and gas money to be turned away because they are money hungry.

Drs office will not answer the phone,or they put you on hold and do not come back. Also get a busy signal all day with no answer.

Dr. Safi is a very knowledgeable physician. He gives his patients time and cares about their well being. I can highly recommend him.

My Mother had an appointment today, Thursday , Nov. 12 at 12:45. We arrived to see a note posted on the door that the office was closed today. Needless to say I am pisses. You would think that the staff would have notified his patients that the office would be closed today. So we are now looking for her future Dr.

I typically do not write reviews, but a recent experience at this doctor's office prompted me to write this because I don't want other thyroid patients having a similar experience. Basically, I've been a patient of Dr. Safi's for probably a year or two and hadn't experienced anything negative or out of the ordinary. I was always good about keeping appointments up until I got pregnant about a year ago. I also work full-time and was constantly leaving work early for OB appointments, so I did cancel a few appointments I was supposed to have with Safi. I didn't want my employer to get annoyed with me for constantly leaving for appointments. So, during the COVID 19 pandemic, my employer gave employees the option of working at another location remotely if we could provide medical documentation that we or a loved one has a medical issue that would make them more susceptible to contracting COVID. I decided to try for medical documentation of my Hashimoto's disease (which Safi diagnosed me with) so I could work remotely and not worry as much about getting the virus and infecting my child or elderly mother who is in poor health. When I called Safi's office to ask for the documentation, his receptionist Theresa was extremely rude and nasty to me. She was rude from the get go and basically told me not in so many words that the doctor's office wasn't going to do me any favors because I had canceled my last few appointments. I canceled them for good reason, because I either had OB appointments or didn't want to get in trouble with my boss for constantly leaving work. So after I explained my situation, she said she would ask Dr. Safi and get back to me. I was taken aback my her rudeness, both in tone and manner, but I decided it would be small potatoes if I could get this documentation to my boss and not expose my baby to COVID 19 if I could help it. So when she called back, she proceeded to tell me that Safi refused to provide the medical documentation about my Hashimoto's diagnosis. She also sounded downright gleeful while giving me this bad news and this was the most pleasant she was to me throughout our telephone conversations. So when I asked why my request had been denied, she said it was because Hashimoto's was not an autoimmune disorder, which is complete and utter b.s. I've done plenty of research on the disorder myself and the American Thyroid Association website clearly defines it as an autoimmune disease within the first couple sentences of their description. So, I told Theresa that I wouldn't be making any future appointments with Safi because he denied me this simple request and she proceeded to hang up the phone on me. I'm not kidding, she literally hung up the phone. Who does this at a place of business? Also, what kind of public service employee demonstrates such unprofessional behavior? So I was very shocked by the receptionists' rudeness and the fact that Safi would not grant me the simple request of providing me with documentation I could give to my employer stating that I have this disorder. I've been a patient there for a while, always paid my bills on time, and showed them the same courtesy and respect I would expect in return. So because of Theresa's rudeness and nastiness and Safi's refusal to provide medical documentation of a disease that he diagnosed me with, I will never set foot in that doctor's office again. I have never encountered such rudeness from a health care employee or even a public service employee in my life. It was completely unnecessary and all they accomplished was losing a patient that was basically giving them insurance money two or three times a year. Also, the office does not do blood work, so every patient has to go to another facility to get lab work done in order to even test the thyroid numbers. What kind of endocrinologist doesn't even have his medical staff draw blood to test thyroid function? So my advice is: do not go to this doctor for thyroid disease. Find a quality doctor outside of Southwest Virginia and save yourself a lot of grief.

Excellent doctor! I have been a patient for several years, always takes the time to explain the treatment process.

I hate Drs. But Dr Safi is one of the nicest Drs. I have ever met. He takes the time to help you and he listens to you. I recommend him to anyone with diabeties.

I love Dr Safi in Bluefield and his wonderful staff. Everyone is so polite, helpful.

While I like Dr. Safi and his staff, I seem to never be able to get through to his office. I received a call and tried one call after the other for 30 minutes and it was busy. This is very frustrating especially when it concerns your health and the medicine that keeps you alive.
