Edward F Barbano Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Barbano is one of those rare physicians who maintains a solo private practice. He is an outstanding clinician who listens well but gets right to the heart of what is needed. I have consistently been treated in a kind and respectful manner. My only concern is that his office has not adopted an electronic health record. That said, all of his staff are friendly and highly professional.

I had my first appointment in late June 2022. I prepared several points to discuss as it was my first visit for the routine annual check up, but soon discovered the doctor had very limited time. The points covered he rushed through and was almost dismissive, like hardly paying attention. Eventually he cut me short saying I needed to return for a second appointment to cover one specific more serious aspect. The impression I got, he is there to take as many patients as possible, as he limits his appointments to the minute. I will certainly not be back in this office and definitely do not recommend him.

Dr. Barbano was my PCP for about six months. He may be knowledgeable but that knowledge is greatly outweighed by his awful bedside manner and disagreeable personality, driven by what I can only assume is deep self-loathing. A classic study in Napoleon complex, he's extremely rude -- or in his words, "snarky" -- condescending, egotistical, and one of the most consistently unpleasant people I've met. After facing a serious health issue this past summer, I switched from a specialist who he had recommended a few months earlier to someone else. Soon after, I saw Barbano. He spent at least half the appointment berating me for changing specialists and waving off the substantial list of reasons I had for doing so. On two consecutive visits, he said he couldn't treat my symptoms and told me to go to the ER immediately. I made the mistake of listening to him the first time. The second time, I skipped the unnecessary ER visit and found a different PCP, who I'm incredibly happy with.

Patient for over 20 years. He is very thorough and is always able to correct any illness I have had. His staff is very professional and friendly. They treat me like family. Five stars to the entire practice.

Dr Barbano was the doctor my husband and I went to from 2005 to 2016 when we moved away. My husband and I frequently talk of how wonderful he was and how much we wished we could find another doctor as good as Dr. Barbano — he’s thorough, compassionate, very involved in his patient’s care and doesn’t hesitate to refer to specialists when needed. We definitely miss the level of care we received from Dr. Barbano and his staff.

I have gone to this doctor for 2 consecutive years off of reviews and not a referral. I am still not sure why this place has good reviews. Every annual physical I was concerned about hives every few months that was going on for years a stomach issues. No referral or concerns to the doctor. This year ended up in ER for anaphylactic reaction to meat. Could have been avoided if doctor listened. ER referred ...

I have been going for years along with my "now" adult children. He is very thorough and will ask the appropriate questions. Even ones you might not want to answer but he cares about your overall health. I recommend him often when friends are looking for a new doctor. His staff is very pleasant and helpful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Barbano's for over 5 years. He is an exceptional physician. He has a calming demeanor, and is genuinely concerned about your well-being. All of the staff are excellent as well (kind and courteous). I am always seen right on time when I arrive. Wish all medical practices were like this one!

Dr. Barbano is very attentive to details physician. Thanks to him I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He referred me to the appropriate facility for necessary diagnostic tests. I feel very lucky being under his care.
