I have been going to Dr. Venk for about 6 years. I have always found her to be thorough and professional.

This doctor is not interested in understanding patient's needs and concerns. She dismisses them and does not order tests required to understand the route of the issue. She is not verse whatsoever in the latest published research. She does not show any interest in patient's wellbeing and rather indifferent. Does absolute minimum during a visit just enough to bill insurance, yet provides no value to patient. Very disappointing to see such an uncaring individual practicing in the medical field.

Dr. Sunitha Venkatachalam’s scheduler booked my appointment for multiple health issues for a certain day. First of all upon arrival, the nurse used a traditional thermometer to get my temperature. Upon my concern, she said they wash it after each use, which was incorrect a lie as I did not see anyone clean the machine. Fast forward, Dr. Venk enters room and is already flustered that she will miss her next appointment and cannot talk about my all my health problems. Totally shocking and rude behavior. She also confused the dates and times I listed for my conditions. Will be looking elsewhere for a family doctor. Such a disappointment.

Dr. Venk has been my primary doctor for last 1 year. She is one of the best doctors in NOVA that any patient can imagine! During my first visit, she diagnosed me with type II diabetes, gave proper medication as well as lifestyle guidance and also referred me to my endocrinologist. That time I was emotionally devastated knowing that I might suffer pregnancy complications due to diabetes. but she encouraged me with her motivational words and told me I can be healthy and even pregnant by controlling diabetes. Not only that, every time i visit her, i feel so comfortable and safe. She makes the whole visit relaxing and comfortable for her patients. She made my annual physical exam extremely comfortable and stress-free when she knew that this is my first time doing an annual physical. I recommend Dr. Venk to everybody who wants their doctor to really care for them.

I've seen Dr. "Venk" twice for routine exams. She was very thorough , attentive and prompt in her follow up on test results. She was also kind and listened well. I just hope she stays with INOVA Family Medicine for a long time.
