List of Brian G Weinshenker's Reviews
All of these 1-star reviews are not wrong. I saw Dr. Weinshenker at UVA in Charlottesville, VA where he now sees patients. The experience was nothing short of awful. I came to the appointment with 3 MRIs showing numerous brain lesions but Dr. Weinshenker said my brain looks "great." I asked him why two neuroradiologists noted all the lesions, and their assessments of the lesions were suspicious for a demyelinating process. He responded that the radiologists "overread" my MRIs, and saw things that weren't there. Unbelievable considering one of the radiologists is a dual board certified diagnostic radiologist & neuroradiologist at Northwestern in Chicago. Not only did he chalk up all my clinical symptoms to anxiety, he failed to order additional testing to explore anything further - he just told me to go to a "wellness center." He also said if I can work a successful full-time job that I don't have any cognitive issues. I can't say one positive thing about this provider.
Dr. Weinshenker was very thorough with his exam and asked questions to get a good background of everything going on with me. He took the time to explain what he was doing and what he was looking for. He was extremely kind and listened to my questions and answered them. He never made me feel bad or stupid for any of the questions I asked. He was very good to explain the test results as well, so that ...
He was dismissive, sexist and condescending. He missed a diagnosis that a rheumatologist was able to make a month later elsewhere. I would never recommend him.

He didn't listen to anything I had to say. He treated my horribly in my appointment and made me cry. I had to ask for another doctor as soon as I walked out of his office.
If I could give him zero stars I would. This doctor didn’t do a damn thing to actually figure out what is wrong with me. He took one vial of blood and did a urine test that showed absolutely nothing and didn’t even attempt to check for other health conditions. He canceled several appointments that I needed for muscle and skeletal issues claiming that I don’t need them. He claims I should be taken ...

He took one vial of blood and did a urine test that showed absolutely nothing and didn’t even attempt to check for other health conditions. He canceled several appointments that I needed for muscle and skeletal issues claiming that I don’t need them. He claims I should be taken off my meds for other conditions that I have been proven to have. He barely went over my medical records and obviously didn’t read them all that well because he quoted my other doctors completely incorrectly as several of them actually called out the condition he was supposed to check for and ruled out what he claims I have. I was there to rule out a rare condition and instead he does nothing to test for it and sticks me with a diagnosis that six neurologist including an MS specialist who said that I DO NOT have. This man is horrible so request a new doctor!
Dr. Weinshenker is compassionate and took the time to listen to my concerns and questions with my recent MS diagnosis. He was empathetic to my apprehensions over potential treatments and supportive in helping me determine the best alternatives. I highly recommend Dr. Weinshenker.

I had my first appt with Dr. Weinshenker in June, 2019. I was completely prepared to NOT like him after all the reviews I had read. I was at Mayo because I was diagnosed with widespread peripheral neuropathy and Gastroparesis. He was very thorough in his exam, asked a lot of questions and ordered some tests. He then told my that his believed I DID NOT have neuropathy, that I may have fibromyalgia and sleep apnea in addition to the Gastroparesis. I thought he was crazy. Well turns out he was spot on! He was correct on all of it. I am so thankful that he was my physician and that I didn't cancel my appt with him based on the reviews I had read. He was very kind and he has continued to follow-up on things for me. I just wish her were in my hometown so I could see him again.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
