Dennis G Vollmer's Online Review Report Card

I was referred to Dr Volmer after finding a tumor. His office staff is GREAT, always on top of appointments and coordinating appointments of the other doctors. His staff CALLS you with appointments and I have NEVER had them neglect doing anything. Dr Vollmer himself is intelligent and takes the time with you. Although I was referred put to gamma knife and can not speak to his ability in surgery, I am assuming that his ability is Top Notch just like his office visits!

Very friendly staff very clean facility Dr Vollmer very compassionate listens to what you have to say explains things very well and always tries to find a plan I wouldn’t let anyone else do surgery if needed again other then Dr Vollmer he’s amazing

He gets a low grade for establishing patient rapport. Basically told me to shut up, didn't want to hear my history, it was a waste of his time. I was always taught to establish patient rapport and gather history. Then he didn't give me the referrals he said he would, and left me in the exam room for over 20 minutes when I finally walked out. Gets a low grade for establishing patient rapport. Basically shut me up, didn't want to hear my history, just what was happening that day, because it was a waste of his time. At end of visit, I asked if I could leave. He said to stay and someone would come get me. Over 20 minutes later I left. They forgot about me. He didn't give me the referrals he said he was going to.

I really liked Dr. Vollmer. He took the time to really explain everything going on with my medical issues and was very informative. He listened well to my concerns and seemed very trustworthy. He was also highly recommended by two of my other doctors who are not even part of the UVA system. They both stated that he was the best neurosurgeon in the area.

PA is a rude and made me feel degraded and ignorant...They are not good listeners at all and no empathy at all. Didn't go in to details or couldn't exactly tell me anything about my condition other then its rare and pain is in my head pretty much. Never directly answer my question there was a lot of gray area there and that how they left me...very disappointed he was suppose to be the best and defiantly let me down.

PA rude and degrading. Both don't listen or show empathy. no direct answers to my questions. not very assertive about the finding in spinal cord, Told me pain was not coming from this but later specialist for my condition said it defiantly can I mean its in the middle spinal cord, they defiantly left me hanging with a lot of unanswered questions. If your not knowledgable of the condition just be up front instead of making people feel like they are crazy and he didn't even try to be knowledgable of condition.

Dr. Vollmer took care of my back problem seven months ago with a fairly simple surgery. Walked out of hospital the next day nearly pain free. Two other surgeons surgeons had recommended a spinal fusion. I am back to full exercise, including hiking, raking, etc. No pain! So thankful!

My experience with Dr Vollmer was nothing but the best. My surgery was a great success and his PA was awesome such a caring man he was always there to go over things to make sure I understood my procedure. I’d recommend Dr Vollmer and his PA 100 percent!!!

Dr Vollmer and his team are fantastic. Great combination of professionalism, and knowledge, Dr Vollmer took the time to explain my back problem in terms I could understand and laid out a game plan that was conservative with surgery being the last resort. Fantastic experience!
