List of Diane L Barros's Reviews
I have been seeing Dr Barros for awhile now. She is very caring, relaxed and engaged. Excellent PCP. I just love her!
Cares about and takes time with her patients. Very relatable.
Dr. Barros seems young and therefore, inexperienced. On each of two visits I asked a question about a health concern and was blown off with no discussion or explanation. I believe I need to look elsewhere for a reliable doctor.
I am in good health but wanted a doctor who would know me and my health history, and who I could call on for a referral or to diagnose a minor case of strep. Finding Dr. Barros was simply lucky on my part and she is a great fit for me. She has a calm manner that is soothing and she listens closely to what you say without judgment. My family health history is a mess and she helps me navigate through it, like what to expect (arthritis) and when to expect it (colon health). I highly recommend Dr. Barros.
Dr. Barros is very thorough and is also a good listener. She remembered that I had started a new job recently even though the last time I had seen her was 6 months ago. She makes sure she prescribes me the best medicine at the cheapest price (at the most convenient pharmacy). I really enjoy every experience I have had with her!
I just changed to Dr. Barros as my PCP. She is the best doctor I've had, and I'm nearly 60. Very thorough, explains options and she's decisive. Very thorough physical and I learned information I hadn't been told before. I just had my first sick visit and she listened to my symptoms and areas of pain, presented several possible reasons and then focused on what she feels is the problem. Same day testing and results due to her "rush" order. Next step is to have a referral with a surgeon.
I’ve been seeing Dr Barros for 2 years now and I must say she has been the best physician that I’ve had at UVA since being a patient at the hospital for nearly 25 years. She is not only professional, knowledgeable and conciderate but she takes the time to explain your treatment and choices. After having two other primary care physicians at the Northtidge location, Dr Barros is far best and the most caring / understanding physician In the hospital network.
Met with cold dismissal by the nurse when I asked to schedule Hep A vaccination due to traveling to S America. Doctor refused to see me just for that. Insisted on travel visit. My insurance only covers Hep A vax if given by my primary care physician, but not a travel visit. UVA health system may have rigid policies, but no explanation why travel visit was necessary - only rude, indignant response that I would even ask the doctor to work with my insurance. No concern for me as a patient.
This was my first experience seeing Dr. Barros when my primary care physician wasn't available for a follow-up exam for the flu. I found her to be thorough, friendly, informative and a good listener. I won't have any problem seeing her again if needed. I, also, told my husband how pleased I was with my visit as he's thinking about changing his PCP. When I read the other reviews I have to wonder if we saw the same doctor?
We have had a lousy experience with Dr. Barros. The first time we met her she seemed as one commentator said below, blah. The second time we met her she was even more disinterested, lack warmth and caring and interest in our case and not even bothering to refer us to a specialist when clearly someone was needed. There is a reason when you call this practice to find a doctor they suggest hers as the first available slot. Beware. The practice doesn't allow changing doctors..

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
