List of National Spine & Pain Centers Charlottesville's Reviews
Incompetent and rude. Basically a money scheme to offer you injections and other procedures that provide no relief. Good luck with these doctors.
Incompetent and rude. Went in for post surgery pain related to multiple spine fusions. No help was offered other than epidural injections, etc. DO NOT GO HERE FOR HELP.
If your goal is to be talked down to by an unremarkable, journeyman physician, Dr. Luebbert is your man. I was a patient of the National Spine and Pain Center at a different geographic location for 6 years. I received professional, compassionate and empathetic treatment there. When we moved to this area, I hoped to continue that positive association with their office on Pantops. Ha. There are many other great offices in the Charlottesville area offering the same services. I recommend you choose one of them. I did!
If I could give zero stars I would. Why bring an Army veteran in to do an evaluation and tell them you don’t have enough information to actually do anything. If that is the case then don’t accept the patient until you have the appropriate level of information instead of wasting over two hours of a patients time with the drive, the need to arrive 45 minutes in advance to the appointment, and the wait for the appointment. Then ask the patient to try to go back and find information from over 5 years ago so you can copy cat the work that was previously done. Not happy and can only imagine what older patients would have to go through to get care. Time is valuable and this office doesn’t care about its patients time and clearly only cares about getting another patient through the door to collect from the VA.
Wait was short, procedure was relatively painless and quick. Dr made sure I knew what was going on. Staff is excellent.
My visit could have been summed up with a phone call, & they wouldn't answer any of my questions. Completely inept, terrible bedside manner. Scheduling nightmare, extortion... Was offered absolutely no options when asking a pain Dr. to help with my pain. Do not let them waste your time or money, get a referral someplace (anyplace) except these folk. Really felt bad about myself as a person after talking with the Dr there.
During my consultation, I did not feel like Dr. Luebbert cared about me any whatsoever. He seemed very cold and in a hurry. He was irritated that I had made the appointment without a referral which I did do because my insurance does not require me to have a referral. I gave him my symptoms and he immediately recommended a rhizotomy. He did order x-rays and scheduled me to come back to start the pretest for the rhizotomy because he said insurance would not pay for it without doing so. Upon my second visit, I thought the doctor would come in and go over my x-ray results before immediately starting the rhizotomy prerequisites, but he didn’t . I had to ask the nurse if I could speak to him about my x-ray results and she got him to come in and he was there for a few seconds, probably not even 30 seconds, before he rushed right back out the door. He told me that the procedure will cause some discomfort, but not be very painful. I was not given any kind of sedation medication or laughing gas or anything to help me to relax. I have been through a lot of medical procedures throughout my entire life and I have a high tolerance for pain. When he started putting those needles in my neck, I immediately started crying. I would say that on a scale of one to 10 for pain, it was up there next to a 10. After he was finished, he immediately left the room and I didn’t see him again. I would not wish this kind of experience or treatment on anyone. I sat on the edge of the x-ray table crying. The nurse said the next time, they could offer me something to help me relax. I don’t understand why this wasn’t offered the first time. I wasn’t given any kind of papers explaining what to expect afterwards. The check out attendant didn’t even speak to me. She handed me a paper with my next appointment on it. She said absolutely nothing to me. I will never go back to this place again and I highly recommend that you don’t either. It was absolutely awful!
I missed 1 appointment due to medical reasons and they told me the doctor does not want to see me bc of it so they will not allow me to schedule any other appointments. I will not recommend anyone to go here.
Is zero stars an option? I'm a 100% disabled veteran and have been sent here twice through the VA Community Care program for two separate conditions. My more recent referral was for botox treatment for TMJ disfunction and migraines. The provider actually asked me during the consult if I had tried ibuprofen! Are you kidding me? The VA authorized botox treatment, however, NSPC refused to provide it due to a company policy that they will not purchase botox upfront and subsequently file for reimbursement from VA. I understand working with the VA can be complicated, but withholding authorized treatment from a disabled Veteran is unacceptable. This is a greedy company that chooses bureaucracy over patient care.
Staff and doctor is excellent.they go above and beyond to help you.would recommend to family and friends.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
