I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Philip Smith at UVA general surgery. He is a superb surgeon, and the staff was amazing, helpful and kind. They all ensured I had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-up. I am so glad I chose him for my surgical needs. I highly recommend him and all the staff who was responsible for my care from beginning to end.

Dr. Smith is thorough in explaining the results of my biopsy and the surgical procedure that was ahead of me. He is confident, kind and caring. He did an amazing job on the incision from my total thyroidectomy. I am only two weeks post-op and you can hardly see it! I highly recommend him. His staff are very warm and welcoming too.

I would highly recommend Dr Smith. Locally, I was told by two specialists that I did not need surgery. My primary care disagreed and sent me to Dr Smith. There I had surgery. I feel a lot better! Everyone (including doctors) say they can't see my scar anymore. Although I recommend Dr Smith, his team is great as well.
