Chkd Pediatric Urgent Care's Online Review Report Card

We've had 2 horrible experiences here and refuse to go back. Both instances our child was misdiagnosed, in the ER with 24 hours, and diagnosed with 2 serious illnesses that required immediate attention.

Dr. Garcia was phenomenal and all the staffs are very friendly highly recommend this location.

My 12 yo wasn't feeling well and we needed a urgent care not an er. Found this place and had a great experience. The staff was great and the wait time way shorted than an er. The Dr was very attentive to his needs and listened to all our complaints. She ordered the right test that put my mind and ease. I did not feel rushed or like another number. We were in a room within a hour and they were busy. I will definitely recommend this urgent care for a quick and friendly staff for ur child.

Went today around 1pm and it was such an easy process. We waited about 30 min in the waiting room before being called back. The nurse getting vitals was amazing and the doctor (Dr. Speerhas) was phenomenal. We were in and out within an hour. Thank you all at CHKD urgent care on Volvo for a speedy visit!

It is an absolute mad house in here. They have had two kids vomit. Every chair in the waiting room full. Someone came to fix the Pyxis machine. But have handled everyone with kindness, cleaned puke fast, and triaged like champs. Thanks for being awesome.

I wouldn't say it was a horrible experience as far as the wait time. It was very reasonable seeing how we are in flu season, front staff/security was amazing and very helpful but the ONLY problem was the doctor. I bought my autistic son in because he was complaining of a earache. Had a fever and cough for over a week and the doctor basically looked at him and said there's nothing wrong, and sent us home... now She was very nice, very friendly and connected with my son to make him more comfortable. I have no complaints about that just questioning why she's even there because He went to his pediatrician about 4 days later (seeing how the problem was still there) and his pediatrician saw that he had an air infection and ordered antibiotics for him. So I'm not sure how the doctor he saw at chkd didn't see that My child had an ear infection cause he had been complaining days before even I brought him into urgent care. So as a parent who has to advocate for her child, I would give it a zero if I could. I came because I knew something was wrong.

This urgent care was awesome. It definitely saved me way more time from having to go to the ER. The staff were awesome and the doctor was amazing. I'm glad that I could have brought my newborn here and they care for him. I highly recommend this place.

I went here with my 6 year old because he was coughing constantly every 5-10 seconds without any breaks for 3 days. They listened to his breathing, gave him some steroids for the cough and sent us home - no checkout papers or any papers at all. So the next day, we went to CHKD's ER in Norfolk and they actually took time to help him. They gave him breathing treatments and oxygen for his cough and because he had low oxygen levels(which they didn't check here) and he was swabbed at the ER and tested positive for RSV....yet at this place, they said he doesn't have it even though they didn't test for it in the first place. This place sucks, which is unfortunate.

It was extremely busy but they did well moving everyone along. What I really want to say is Dr Luis Olmeda was very good with my kids. He made them laugh and comfortable before a very thorough exam. I didn't feel rushed at all! He even offered information and knowledge I didn't have to ask for. If he could be our PCP, we would switch TODAY!
