Fred Williams's Online Review Report Card

I must say I absolutely appreciate everything Dr. Williams have done for not only for myself but my unborn child at the time (now 6 months old). I went in for my route pregnancy check and was in extreme pain. He made sure they checked me in and when the other doctors found out that I might need to deliver ASAP (at only 7 month); Dr. William made it his duty not only to stop by to check on me but all call throughout the night to make sure I received a bed at Norfolk General. Thanks to Dr. Williams we were able to figure out I was high risk. He not only ensure my safety but my JaxJax safety as well. My family and I would like to thank you for all you’ve done.

Please read. I did not have a good experience at all with him. I lost my baby in 2019 due to preeclampsia and negligence on his part. I do not believe he gave me the care or attention that I deserved as a mother who was having a baby. I would get sent home numerous times from the ER on his call, he would be late for my appointments where sometimes I would just leave, he would also ignore my concerns when I tell him. I got tested for preeclampsia and it came back at a high critical value and he did not treat me for it. He even forgot to put the test in. To this day, I still have nightmares about it. We’re suppose to be able trust the healthcare professionals with our lives and our babies life but unfortunately for me I can’t ever again. He was simply careless.

Dr Williams has been my gynecologist since I was 12 years old, when he was treating underprivileged women in Shoop Park in Norfolk, when I had an ovarian cyst burst. He is an amazing doctor! The ONLY doctor that has stayed with me my whole life so far, I'm 35. He delivered both of my children. I've dealt with many female issues and he always hears me and give a down to earth approach. I've loved watching him grow as a physician, now the head OBGYN for Chesapeake General, and I couldn't be happier for him. He deserves it. You will not be disappointed with his or his staff's care.

If I could give no stars I would. There was absolutely no care provided by any staff member here. First appointment I made I explained how I really needed an ultrasound to make sure my baby was okay before travel as I was very early on in my pregnancy and had tried 6 years to conceive with no success until this current pregnancy. I confirmed on 2 different occasions that this appointment would include an ultrasound and both times was reassured it would. Then at that very appointment they told me they would not do an ultrasound because I was not yet 18 to 20 weeks. Fast forward to the end of that visit and they tell me they would schedule me back and my next appointment would be between 18 to 20 weeks for a second trimester anatomy scan. So I schedule this. Now the week before my appointment I find out that this was not scheduled as an anatomy scan but as a regular prenatal visit. And the clinic doesnt even do ultrasounds there on site! Then the referral form Dr. William's sent for my ultrasound on 2 occasions he continued to put it as a first trimester ultrasound instead of a second trimester anatomy scan! 2 occasions! When I called about this his nurse's response was "Oh that goofball." No apology or anything. She then tells me she will have him immediately correct the form after lunch that same day and have him personally give me a call back before the end of the day to let me know he corrected it and sent it over. Over 2 work days later still no call back from the staff and I had left over 4 messages. I also had lab work done with abnormal results that no one took the time to call and discuss with me. I'm honestly afraid for any pregnant woman who goes to this OBGYN. Run while you can. There is no professionalism, no care, no sense of urgency or compassion and you as an expecting mother deserve better. I am appalled by the blatant lack of respect and care provided and will not be going back. I will be seeking out a new OBGYN for the care of my expected child and myself and highly recommend anyone else in my position does the same.

I have been going to this Dr since i was 17 years old he is awesome. The staff is very friendly they make you feel like family. Dr Williams nd i are family he also was my mom and aunts Dr when they had kids he watch me grow up nd he tells me nothing but the best thing to do. He is like a grandfather that you can trust. He listen and figure out the problem!! Most dr dont listen..

The staff was so polite and courteous.. The physician was very knowledgeable about my needs and concerns. I will recommend this facility to all my friends and family for sure.
