Tidewater Childrens Associates's Online Review Report Card

Between my 2 children, we've seen at least 4 of the doctors at this practice and have enjoyed all of them. They're breastfeeding friendly and when my newborn started to exhibit signs of food allergies, Dr. Baker was quick to give us a referral to an allergist. The nurses are amazing and wait times are short. I consider ourselves lucky that we choose this office when we moved here.

Great pediatrician office!!

We love Dr. Baker! My now 6-month-old has been a patient of Dr. Baker from the beginning. She is incredibly nice, thorough and has a very calm demeanor that makes my daughter feel comfortable when being seen. She is always happy to answer any questions we have and doesn't rush us out. I highly recommend her and plan to have her be my daughters pediatrician as she grows. Side note: anytime I call with questions for the nurse or doctor, my phone call is returned in usually no more than 30 mins. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We have also seen Dr. Nottingham for a visit regarding eczema and we really liked him, too.

It frustrates me that a doctor's office that is open during business hours requires you to come in and complete out paperwork before rescheduling your child's appointment. Do we not work during office hours as individuals/adults? Although the forms are available online, you must complete them in person because not all forms have been uploaded. So it is Frustrating and backwards.

I usually go to the kempsville location, went in today the young lady at the front desk (light skin black girl) we’ll call her lemon head was rude yelling my info out loud not welcoming or respectful at all please vet your front desk staff better their the first point of contact if that’s off why would I want to see a doctor there. She had no reason to act in such a manner I’ll account it to her being young or not having any home training..nothing will be done about it but I felt the need to leave a review!

Both of my sons have been seeing Dr. Drewes since they were born. He’s always very patient, through, and listens to our concerns. Forms are filled out in a timely manner. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. We get answers to our questions very quickly every single time. Thank you!

Got all the bad vibes from just talking to the snappy receptionist on the phone. Answers like she doesn't even want to be there. I asked how hard it is to transfer kids from another office to here, I'm looking for more as a smaller practice, she cuts me off and says we are the biggest in the area with three locations. SO I say ma'am what I was SAYING was my current doctors office we are there for 3-4 hrs. General Academics pediatrics in Norfolk is by far one of the busiest offices in Hampton roads areas. A mother of two, I just wanted to find a place where I can take my kids to their appointment be seen within 20 mins wait and be in and out. Not wait wait wait, get put in a room and wait again. Maybe next time the receptionist can let someone talk before interrupting what I was saying.

Dr. Carp is amazing beyond belief! Not sure why there is a one star review? I'm about to explain this. My kids have grown up there, and dealing with her has ALWAYS been amazing. There is one other Dr. there that is a little older and he has glasses that guy was great. But as of recently, it's maybe becoming more of a numbers thing. The manager at this location was not empathetic to the situation. I get there are two sides to every story, but hey your front desk girl: Allie is super empathetic. Hey Allie, I'm sure you can read this, empathy goes a long way, your manager can take a page out of your book and learn from it. Empathy goes so far. It's part of what's lacking in the medical field. I transferred all my kids out of there today because of how generic and robotic the conversation with from the manager. I won't say your name, but you're reading this too, if you're having a bad day I apologize, but maybe be more empathic when people are talking to you and not just your cue card response which was we don't refund anything because though your co-pay cost x we still had different things we had to take care of on this end. You also said we provided service. One thing that was crazy, was she mentioned to me you know you didn't take your kids to the other appointments you're hearing this from your wife. Though that may be true, I did take my daughter to the last appointment which she said they would have to change the notes because it shows my wife took her, unless I had plastic surgery it definitely was me. That comment was uncalled for. Playing telephone is different when you actually take notes prior to the call. This response seems to be many Dr. office's response. Though you provided a service, I could have turned on Doc McMuffins on the Disney channel, close my eyes, and gotten better service. Everyone has something going on, learn from it. Never say never. Maybe one day we will be back, but until then there are other places that have great people. Dr. Carp we will miss seeing your above excellent approach to everyone. If I could rate Dr. Carp it would be 5 stars every single time. I can't blanket this to the whole office only the ones I have dealt with. So take a chance and feel it out, but just know there are tons of great doctors waiting to be discovered at other offices.

The receptionist… yikes. Spent over 45 minutes trying to get in contact with someone on the phone, so we finally decided to try to schedule an appointment in person. What a mistake. This place has really gone downhill.
