called about 20 time for 2 days, she did not return phone call, no symphony to patient

I will file complain for Dr. Asma Khapra, two days before my mom's procedure I have called her office more than 20 times and asked Dr. Khapra to give me a call since I would like to get clarification from her that she is aware of my mom medical situation. She did not call me even though I had tried call 5 times for office urgent line and asked nurse to message her to call me back the day before procedure, ...

I've been a patient of Dr Khaphra for years and this review has been a long time coming. She works with me and my approach to health such as the approach of taking the least amount of medications possible and controlling my GI condition as much as possible through natural means first like diet. I look forward to working with this doctor for many years to come to manage my GI condition.

Dr Asma was the only doctor who had the knowledge to determine why I was so sick for months. I am so grateful to have had her care for me.

I have returned to the GANV website to transfer my medical records to another practice. I do so ONLY because I relocated to the West coast so clearly need to re-establish myself with a new GI doc. I will be hard pressed to find another GI specialist who offers the commitment to quality healthcare as Dr. Khapra. For those of us with the less than garden variety GI issues, Dr. Khapra was the single GI doc who invested herself in providing me thorough and comprehensive care. Over the years I have been through a number of other GI specialists who simply never connected the dots to fully understand my issues, thus I never received the care I needed. People have their own set of expectations when it comes to medical services. She exceeded mine in every way. For me, communication and thinking out loud with me as she provided my care was the most important aspect of my experience with her. She always made sure all of my questions were answered. I am sorry to leave her practice.

As a patient, I felt disregarded. I wish my physician, Dr. Khapra, took my procedure seriously throughout the procedure and after. I should have received my post-op diagnosis when I spoke my physician after the procedure. I felt neglected as a patient. This was a waste of money and a waste of service. Either she is terrible at communicating or she made it difficult to talk, which only escalated the problem. The office said I should be able to talk to her through the online portal but no one answered me back. Now I wished I looked at her reviews before scheduling an appointment. There is more to say but I'll be clear....do not see her.

I have had a great experience so far with Dr Khapra and staff. Dr Khapra is very kind and was the only Dr able to diagnose my pretty simple issues and help me after life long problems. It is pretty difficult to get an appointment but it is that way at every single GI or esp neurologist in the NOVA area. This area just is packed full of ppl. Dr Khapra is a top notch Dr recommended by my primary. You can easily communicate with the nursing staff via their portal ( its not on mychart but their own through their website) but they respond quickly. If you want an appt plan to wait a couple of months. Thats just the reality. If it is an emergency go to your urgent care or ER etc or primary. Just don't expect the same level of kindness or understanding that you get at the GI Dr from the walk in clinic, urgent care or ER bc the urgent care ppl are mean and judgemental. Dr Khapra validated my issues, given me 2 diagnosis, and has helped me tremendously. Im still figuring a balance but we are on our way. Im forever greatful. Note if you have to go to a walk in clinic dont go to fairfax walk in at fairoaks hosp. The fairfax walk in clinic disregarded me and essentially said I had mental health issues that were causing my gi problem that was in NO way true or could even cause the problem. So skip them and try somewhere else if you are having serious gi issues and can't get into see Dr Khapra. ******Summary******* * Dr Khapra 5 stars. *Dr Khapras education: excellent *Appointment scheduling 3 stars but typical for our area. And they were still nice. Only wish we could try to schedule online or make requests online. *Communication with medical staff: 5 stars *Location: fairoaks hospital campus5 stars ( I think - ive never been in person) *Telavisits: Yes definitely - love them Overall 5 stars. Patient for 4 months will update over time.
