Excellent doctor for pain relief. Dr Whittenberg knows what she is doing and does a good job explaining options.

Trying to call and speak to someone is a nightmare. I’ve been on hold for well over an hour waiting to speak to someone and I’ve been “number 2” in line this whole time. Now it’s past closing so no one will answer and I called at 250pm well before closing. Absolutely ridiculous. Also whenever you do get through to someone whoever answers is always rude and unprofessional. Need better staffing ASAP.

This review is years overdue. I was a patient of Dr. Whittenberg when her office was in DC. I had severe lower back shoulder and neck pain from an accident. I received facet injections spine injections and something else I can’t remember. Within a few appointments coupled with physical therapy my pain dissipated. A few years later I had pain in my hip area and I ran straight to her office. It was bursitis and she gave me a shot and the pain was gone. I highly recommend her. She has excellent bedside manner a sense of humor and cares about her patients. Thank you Dr. W

You wont find a better pain doctor I know because Ive had 12 surgeries and Dr. Whittenberg was the ONLY doctor that returned my normal life to me. Her skills with epidurals and ablations are off the charts. Most doctors just shove these painful toolneedles into you and plunge the medication into your spine. They give you no clue how much pain you are about to endure. Dr. Whittenberg is different. She tells you what to expect and if its more than usual she explains that and why. Dr. Whittenberg is not a chatty Kathy shes a brilliant medical doctor who knows her stuff and is highly skilled. Dont expect a babysitter or not to wait you always have to wait for the best but feel comfortable knowing that if your pain can be ameliorated Dr. Whittenberg will be the one to do it.

I had to see the Physicians assistant before seeing Dr. Whittenberg. I was given one option only for my neck pain relief. The communication between the PA and the doctor was lacking. When I called with questions I could not get a human only voicemail options. I left 3 separate messages asking for more info on the procedures I was to undergo not a single call was returned. When I called the appointment line the person who answered told me to look it up on the internet This is the WORST experience I have ever had with a Doctors office. I do not recommend this poorly run office to anyone

Be prepared to wait for this highly qualified and popular doctor. She treats patients in pain all day long and a PA will spend the most time with you assessing your pain level and course of treatment. If you then want a pain injection the same day it will be another hour or so for the procedure. So set aside three hours minimum. The pain relief is worth the wait.

I waited for 2+ hours with no apology or explanation in an exam room for a consult with Dr Whittenburg for a steroid shot for low back pain. Her consult was hurried abrupt with no discussion of my condition or treatment options until I asked. She then offered the shot however her office worker told me I’d have to wait another 2+ hours for it. I had already been there for 4+ hours so I left with no injection no apologies or offer to work me in for a nextday appointment and felt ignored and poorly treated.

Dr. Whittenberg is very competent and her staff are terrific. Yes often they are harried because its a very busy office. On quieter days the staff are warm and friendly. They are very efficient in filing the constant paperwork with my disability company. Sadia is a champ keeping the appointments straight. Lindsay nurse has been generous in organizing appointments around my disability timelines and answering my many questions. Jae and the other nursesmedical assistants are warm friendly and very competent with great senses of humor. Sometimes Ive had to call and ask questions and folks have always been helpful.
