Scheduled surgery with Dr. Rice, very good experience. Surgery went smoothly, after care communication response was timely and questions were answered completely. Dr. Rice is very knowledgeable, is very pleasant and considerate with her time.

All these negative reviews are very, very hard to believe. Health care is hard. These docs are working as hard as they can. You arent at a restaurant. Be patient, and be appreciative. Dr. Rice is excellent. She calls us on her days off without hesitation. She is very down to earth and takes as much time as you need, when she can, to explain things. We moved out of the area ***and make the trip back JUST to see her***. And to put this negativity to rest, one of her patients that I know is a physician and has complete confidence in her and her team and referred her own parents to her. Docs know who is good. Period. I had an appointment with Dr. Rice at 9:30 AM. On the day of the appointment, I arrived at 9:25 AM. I was told that my appointment was at 9:00 AM. I checked my calendar. No, I have 9:30 AM. I asked if appointment verification 24 hours or 1 business day prior to the appointment was a standard practice used by Dr. Rice's team. I was told yes. I informed the receptionist that I was not extended that courtesy. No one ever called. The receptionist asked the other receptionist, an older African American male who was Dr..Rice's Medical Assistant (MA). He mumbled something. I inform the receptionist that when I scheduled the appointment, I asked to be placed on a waiting list. I never received a call about a cancelled appointment. As a result, I patiently waited over a month to see Dr. Rice. When I didn't get the common verification call, I learily arrived at my appointment time concerned that I didn't have an appointment at all. But I came anyways. The receptionist, a young (20-30 something) African American woman with a short crop hairdo messages to see if I can still be seen. When she gets no response, she grabs her cell phone and goes to the back. Minutes later, she returns to tell me that I can be seen at 11:45 AM, over two hours later, if I want to wait. Or I can just reschedule..I explained, again, that I had been waiting for over a month. I wasn't waiting another hour. The error wasn't with me, but with the office and I shouldn't be punished for it. The young lady was struggling to grasp what I was saying. She asks, "So, you're cancelling?" No, I'm here at my appointment time. "So, you're waiting?" No, ma'am. I'm leaving. I'm here. You won't take me, so I'm leaving. You're cancelling. Don't bother waiting for Dr. Rice. WARNING: Stay Away. Especially if you are a “man of color” — do NOT allow her to perform any surgery on you! Avoid the REGRET resulting either from her incompetence or maliciousness or both. I would give her ZERO Stars if only that were an option...

I like the doctor but you cannot get a message to her either through MYCHART or the phone number listed. You will wait more than 40 minutes just to get the scheduling department on a Monday. Even longer at times. I do not find this a professional way of doing business..

She is a wonderful caring doctor.

An amazing doctor! I truly couldn't have asked for better care. Highly recommend.

Looking back I should have chosen a different surgeon than Dr Rice. She was dismissive of my surgery report, she told me so but not in writing. and did not care.

It is difficult to put a rating but I would give 5 stars to the doctor who is very knowledgeable and professional; I would put 1 star to a rude and ineficient front office. I try to make an appointment by phone and after 30 minutes on hold I gave up, by email in my chart after more than 24 hours I did not have any answer to my request !!!!
