List of Dana M Block Abraham's Reviews
I love Dr. Block! I’m late on this review, but I thank Dr. Block as well as all the doctors here. They cared for me so well during my high-risk IVF pregnancy. I needed a lot of reassurance and they were able to give extra scans and testing for my peace of mind after two losses. Dr. Block will always have a special place in my heart, for making sure I had a positive birth experience with my baby girl who is now almost 7 months.
She's excellent in her work. Thankyou Dr. Block.
I am not sure how a reputed organization like INOVA LOUDON HOSPITAL has doctors on board like Doctor Dana Block. I am not going to give a complete picture of negatives here but only important ones. When you are an advanced pregnant with certain complications you are referred to antenatal center and among a few doctors I met there during my visits I met doctor block twice. The doctor is really not compassionate in the last two visits I had with her. No real information/ education is given during the final consultation after tests, you are expected to know and ask questions as if you are a trained person and every question will be shot down with arrogance. Your blood sugar readings are not considered/ asked for but you will be asked how you are doing with blood sugar, if you ask if they are going to do something different because you have high readings, they don't do anything different but ask you because they have to write in the after summary notes to pass it as their own observations. Not going to care enough to tweak the approach based on how your blood sugars are or if its going to affect baby weight. A 25 minute consultation is always stretched to 2.5 hours when she is on the floor, could be a coincidence or mismanagement, she will pass through your room multiple times to see who you are and she always attends to someone who had come 45 mins later than you and had tests after you because he may have certain preferences. Normally that is a small inconvenience but if you are a diabetic the meal you had just before a 2.5 stretched appointment (actual testing done was 25 - 30mins) will not last. I could update the review with details of sub par medical attention details after the delivery.
She was patient and compassionate. She listened to me and answered my questions.
I rarely write online reviews, unless it’s something amazing or horrible. Well, sadly this doctor is horrible. At least her bedside manners, and I didn’t get a chance to learn anything else about her. She is very unprofessional, rushed into my room while I was still undressed and started discussing my personal issues with other people present. She never really explained anything and behaved as if I am stupid. I trust medical professionals but I also want to understand what’s happening to me. I am a licensed professional myself (I am a lawyer) and I would be definitely fired for such behavior.
I was seen by Dr. Block-Abraham at IFH and PANOVA. She is very knowledgeable.
I was sent to this practice for a first trimester screening after finding out I was having twins. After the sonogram and getting some tests done (the tech and the nurse were amazing and kind) I went in to see dr block for a consultation and she went into all the potential complications that could happen with identical twins. She said that I would be receiving sonograms every 2 weeks and then every week closer to my due date to monitor to make sure I didn’t develop any thing. I asked if there was any radiation in sonograms? Her reply was “doesn’t matter you’re getting them anyway.” Then stating “no, they’re sound waves” she talked more and told me that she wouldn’t let me go past 37 weeks. So I asked, “oh what’s the reason for that?” And she said “well, in short, they’ll die” I was really shocked at my visit with her. Instead of receiving medical reasons why she was making decisions, I received very aggressive answers. I will never go back to that practice. I do NOT trust nor believe that she actually cares at all for the well-being of my babies or me. I felt no compassion from this woman. I just couldn’t believe it. There are other doctors in this practice but I wouldn’t want to risk being stuck with her on my delivery day.
Dr. Block is a fantastic doctor! She is so well-versed in high risk pregnancies and accurately predicted and reacted to every turn during my mono di triplet pregnancy. She was calm and comforting and extremely responsive in between appointments (which were once a week at the end). She is very evidence based but also listens carefully to your concerns. Sometimes she’d even spot a symptom I hadn’t identified or mentioned yet like a hoarse voice (turns out pregnancy can even swell your vocal cords!). After surgery she came to visit me, while I visited my kids, in the NICU and never made me feel like I was wasting her time (which I know is precious!).
I had the luxury of having Dr. Block look after me and my baby this year. Finding out something is wrong with your baby can be both stressful and nerve wracking, however Dr. Block made the process as easygoing as possible. She was straight forward and honest with me when it came to all of my concerns. Her professionalism allowed me to fully prepare for what's to come. That alone, made me want to request Dr.Block at every appointment, and every encounter with her was pleasant because she is encouraging, kind and understanding. Despite me repeatedly asking the same questions during every appointment she made sure to always fulfill my concerns. She is incredible at her job and I hope to see her again when I have my next pregnancy.
She's very rude, unprofessional, and shows no empathy to any type of complications women may experience during pregnancy. I'm also not sure If her knowledge base supersedes her terrible interpersonal skills. Again, avoid at all costs

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
