Dr. Sanders is great and helped me make an informed decision about my surgery. Unfortunately, his office staff are terrible at responding which makes it difficult to be seen unless you’re admitted to the hospital.

I had my appendix removed by Dr. Sanders which ended up not being needed. He never explained to me what else they did to "manipulate my gut" during surgery but it left me with years of digestive issues. He was not helpful in a weeklong hospital stay after the surgery. I came to my follow up appointment and waited two hours only to be seen by his colleague who didn't know my case at all. Would not recommend this clinician.

My experience with Dr. Sanders has changed my life for the worse a simple appendicitis removal has turned into an in and out of the hospital for the almost the past year. The only treatment they give me is an anti infection medication for that area, however where is the infection coming from. I need professional help.

Doctor Sanders was very Professional, knowledgeable and polite. He took the time to explain what was wrong and what he needed to do to help me. He gave me clear instruction to help me heal and get back to normal. Thanks for all his help. The Staff was also very Professional and Polite too.

My son was away at Old Dominion University (in Norfolk) when he came down with appendicitis. Dr. Sanders coordinated his care between the ER at Norfolk General and Alexandria Hospital. PJB was in the OR within an hour of arriving at the hospital. It only took Dr. Sanders 10 minutes to remove his infected appendix. What else is important to know is that I'm a seasoned Recovery Room Nurse. I've been working in the DC Metro region for 30 years. I had a plethora of general surgeons to choose from at any hospital in Va, DC or Md for my son. I deliberately choose Dr. Sanders because of his outstanding clinical skills. The best person to give you a recommendation on a surgeon is an OR or recovery room nurse. Please take my advice and choose Dr. Sanders for you or your family members. He's one of the best General Surgeons in the DC Metro region.

I saw Dr. Sanders after I was referred to him by my Gastroenterologists' practice for gallbladder removal. The office staff were great and extremely helpful. Both Dr. Sanders and his PA Kevin fully explained why the surgery was needed and what I could expect during the healing process, as well as being sure to inform me of the potential risks of the surgery. I was actually able to have the surgery within two weeks of my referral, which is pretty quick. Post-surgery I have felt absolutely great, better than I have all year. Part of that is down to removing the thing causing all of my pain and malaise, but a big part of it is also due to the fact that the surgery went perfectly and I was set up for a successful recovery by Dr. Sanders and his team.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Sanders. My thyroid (goiter) was so large that it wrapped around to the back of my neck. I was having difficulty swallowing and the bulge in the front of my neck was quite pronounced. Dr. Sanders shared that the protrusion out of the front of my neck was nothing compared to how far the tumor wrapped around to the back of my neck once my neck was cut open. Dr. Sanders and his team went into my neck and and skillfully removed all of my tumor. Dr. Sanders is very patient and he will work with your desires for your optimum health. I am glad that I have had this experience with this team. He comes highly recommended my the hospital staff and they all breathed easier knowing that he was the surgeon doing the procedure. When you have a thyroid/goiter, please do not trust you procedure to anyone else.

Had several gallbladder "attacks" (right rib/back pain) and eventually ended up in an ER/hospital, was diagnosed with infected gallbladder. After several days of antibiotics, I was able to leave the hospital, and searched for a surgeon to remove the gallbladder, and I found/selected Dr. Sanders. Dr. Sanders did the removal. It was apparently a difficult surgery, but went well, and his staff, esp. "Jacqueline" was great answering all post-surgery questions. Dr. Sanders+staff are COOL! A+++
