Horrible! Avoid at all cost
Typical money hungry office with racist, incompetent, and judgmental owner of medical practice and staff with even less scruples. Heard screaming and yelling over the phone at other family members by some judgmental, unethical, and hysterical woman named Cindy whose pretenses are unprofessional and ridiculous for a grown woman. Sickening.
Terrible office administration. Medical care is adequate. Office manager/front desk would not let me talk to Dr. Kim about a medicine refill for gout, said i needed to come in for an appointment first. I could not even walk and my condition was on file and the meds had been prescribed before. The after hours Dr, had no problem calling in the re-fill. This happened 2X for the same reason and ...
I've been a patient here for quite some time when I worked on this side of town. Currently I'm on a quarterly appointment to stay on top of my diagnosis. Dr. Kim has the best hands when it comes to drawing blood! Tip: skip the techs and go straight to him for 1 prick only!!! I think he's fair however I don't like that they will hold Rx refills until an appointment is made or held. It feels like Rx hostage. Never once have I skipped an appointment and As a paying customer I should never be made to feel like I can't get the Rx needed pending an appointment. I'm highly disappointed about their latest actions. The front desk staff, Kim, displays great customer service and compassion.
On May 14, we went for medical check up to Gil Kim. We had him for 20 years. But since last year his behavior has been very abnoxious. My husband who is 90 years old has multi health issues and we go to cardiologist and gastrilogist. I asked Kim, if has received repot of my husband from both of his doctors. His face swelled like a red ballon, and he started showing me very bad attitude. I was in tears when I left. He calls patients in office and does nothing. All he wants money. We have been very upset with him of his bad attitude.
If you are looking for an internist I strongly recommend you don't go to this doctor if you value your life or your families life. He thought she had pneumonia and requested chest xrays and didn't call her back for 2-days only after my mother's persistence in finding out her chest xray results. Note, the doctor was given her chest xray results in an hour according to the radiology office. It was discovered that she had a heart attack and could have died. This was a complete shock that a doctor wouldn't have called a patient for 2-days to inform a patient of this and to direct her to go to the hospital immediately. Total and unbelievable unacceptable as a former patient. Also, he doesn't hire registered nurses which is very unusual. Instead he hires technicians due to saving money.
Misdiagnosed my mother’s medical event that occurred thinking it was pneumonia and instead it was a heart attack. Didn’t inform my mother until 2-days later after having received the xray results, etc. the same afternoon only due to my mother’s persistence in finding out her test results. She could have died. This is not joke and was very serious. Completely unacceptable beyond belief that she was not properly taken care of from the beginning.
Saw him first time this Wed 8/29 only because my current PCP is unavailable for few weeks and I needed my thyroid levels checked asap and also because he's located in the same building where I work so it was convenient to see him. But I am glad I only had to see him for 1 time. I am 31 and I recently found out I am pregnant. He was like oh you're pregnant at 31 that's late than usual but hey better late than never. I was like most of my 32 yr old friends are not even expecting yet and I have never heard such a thing from my high-risk ob, PCP, gyn or rheumatologist that I ws old to be pregnant first time at 31. Then he was like yeah enjoy your life before the baby pops out because after that your life is over. And I was like what a great way to encourage a first time parent. I can say with utmost certainty that I will never be seeing him again. Very unprofessional for an Internal Medicine (family) doctor. I am a physical therapist since 9yrs and have worked with many doctors in my life but never seen such a unprofessional healthcare worker. Also, I agree with other reviews about him being all about money. My co-worker saw him with cash once as she doesn't have insurance and then he wanted to charge her another $150 to just tell her the results. Never heard that you have to go see a doctor personally for results unless it was something gravely serious.
I'm going to add my 2 cents to the others who have given Dr. Kim less-than-stellar reviews. I totally agree that he's all about money. Our insurance has an agreement with Quest Diagnostics, but Dr. Kim refuses to get them to pick up our lab samples. We finally strong armed him into giving us the blood work order before our annual physical. Now we do that first and Quest sends us and the doctor the results. We pay zero for lab work under our insurance. And since he's not drawing blood, Dr Kim doesn't get anything for our lab work. He could get a fee if he would let them pick it up, but not enough, apparently. His insistence that we have to come in for "followups" is ridiculous. But he bills at least $130 each time, so doing it with a phone call would mean less money in his pocket. The other issue is his record keeping. He uses paper records. The only slightly high tech thing they do is text message reminders for appointments. The problem is the time is always an hour later on the text reminder. I've mentioned this to the office staff, and their response is that it hasn't reset time for daylight savings time. But it's an hour LATER on the text reminder, so the explanation doesn't make sense. I've heard the nurse complaining about high tech stuff, too.
Dr Kim is very thorough and took all of the time we needed to go over our medical issues. He is easy to understand and flexible to work with. Kim in the office is very helpful and thorough, and has often accommodated our schedule challenges with a friendly smile and helpful approach.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
