Go elsewhere; cares very little about his patients.

After reading the negative reviews of Dr. Leibowitz, I was concerned. I had already made an appointment to see him with my 15 year-old son and it was hard to get an appointment with anyone, let alone this guy who seems to be VERY busy. Since most of the concerns were about his bedside manner, and I would be there to run interference if needed, I kept the appointment. I am so glad I did. The Dr. Leibowitz I saw was, aside from being a very competent and knowledgeable gastroenterologist, kind, courteous, caring, gentle and all-around as good as I could ever have expected. I went in to the appointment with my eyes wide open looking for those poor bedside manners and arrogance several people spoke of. He explained everything in easy to understand terms, starting with a high-level overview of the situation, then proceeded down each of the specific areas as he said he would. He stopped after covering a specific area and asked if we had any questions. He addressed both my son and I, with his first question always to my son before turning to me. He answered every question without a bit of arrogance or down-talking. He had a genuine smile and his body language, gestures, tone and words were spot-on with regard to the amount of information he presented and how he presented it. AND, on top of all that, in terms of treatment he covered what I would call the “typical drug-company driven treatment” as well as more holistic and homeopathic approaches. Keep in mind that I went in as a skeptic…looking for something wrong. I did not find it. Quite the contrary, it was outstanding in every way. So, I have to guess that he either read the bad reviews and “adjusted” his approach, or it is all you and not him.

This guy is too arrogant and scornful. Not only was he insulting to my teenage daughter, but to her parents also! Not to mention getting an appointment is awful...the staff could care or less about the patients...except for the nuse- she was ok. We won't be back. I think these doctors who are full of pompous attitudes need to show some respect and a more caring attitude..and remember...treat your patients better and they'll want to come back, otherwise you won't have any patients. We tried some of the other doctors with this practice in Fairfax too..they are all pompous and rude! We're gone!

I find him sarcastic and dismissive as well. He has not impressed me in handling my son's case of ulcerative colitis. My son has been in pain for months and they can't seem to put anything in his body but poison and no relief. Very sad .

Really simple, what an arrogant guy! How can you be that arrogant and provide such poor quality in every aspect.

Dr. Leibowitz is a good doctor, but has poor bedside manners. He can be "nice/nasty" and very sarcastic. We just recently saw him, however we are looking for another gastro doctor, as he tends to talk down to you like your stupid and no nothing. I am sure there are other gastro doctors out there with much better social skills and bedside manners.

We really like the care we get from Dr. Leibowitz. However, trying to schedule an appointment is a nightmare. You are not able to schedule in the oiffice for a follow up when you are done with your current appointment. You have to call a main number with Inova, after waiting on hold for 20-30 minutes, someone answers then tells you there is nothng available for the next 6 weeks and then the schedule is not available after that. So, you are asked to call back. This has happened 3 times to me.

My daughter has seen Dr. Leibowitz for years and has since graduated into adult Gestro level. How I wish Dr. Leibowitz could remind to be my girl's doctor. He has always been kind and thoughtful to us. We will miss him dearly.

He has worst bed size manner. After my daughter was discharged no follow up and unable to get appointment had to switch to a real doctor thet cares for hos patients not just the money

My son is 16 and has been cared for by Dr. Leibowitz for the past 8 years since he was 9 years old. My son is healthy and has lived a normal life with Chron's since his diagnosis. Dr. Leibowitz is a great care taker and service provider.
