List of James Warren Leiphart Md's Reviews
Rude and very unprofessional 🇰🇾. He and his staff are not that be trusted at all. Rub away from him and his ugly staff.
Dr. Leiphart is extremely knowledgeable, has excellent bedside manner, and will explain your diagnosis and needs clearly in layman’s terms. He is honest and will not push unnecessary surgery on patients. I am so grateful that he was my surgeon 10 years ago and I still feel comfortable going to him for follow up. I highly recommend him, as well as his nurse practitioner Zara Mohseni, nurse Katherine, and extremely pleasant and efficient front desk staff at the Alexandria office on North Beauregard. Street.
My husband underwent emergency brain tumor surgery. Unfortunately, the incision was not completely closed or expeditiously corrected. As a result of this occurrence, my husband suffered irreparable harm! The end result, meningitis, a stroke, and hydrocephalus now stabilized by a permanently, installed shunt. The lack of empathy and dismissiveness displayed by Dr. Leiphart was appalling! As were his efforts to correct his surgical error. Research of physicians is an invaluable resource!
Dr. Leiphart performed a discectomy on my L5-S1. After a year of pain, I'm a week out from the surgery and pain free.
I had a C2 fracture to my neck in a car accident and was in a neck brace. The neck brace was so that I didn't turn or bend my neck so it could heal, but he said I could drive a car if I wanted to, which made no sense fro obvious safety reasons. He seemed mean spirited and no compassion. I had a large bump on the back of my neck and he would not touch it/me. He brushed off my concerns and was useless when I asked him anything. I need a 2nd opinion because this guy is idiot or doesn't care.
this review is about his office, not the physician but unfortunately, his assistant affects his practice and patient ease/satisfaction. I called several times to make appointments but did not receive call back. Finally I got a call back after 3rd or 4th attempt in a period of 2 weeks. I made an appointment for a baclofen pump refill for my father and waited several weeks only to get a call 2 days prior to the scheduled appointment that she mistakenly made the appt not realizing the Dr does not do refills and thats what we were waiting for. After all this time of waiting, to wait to the last minute to say we cant be seen and then trying to turn it on me that I didnt explain it properly. I am a physician myself so there is no mistaking that I requested a baclofen pump refill, not replacement and not placement, REFILL. So frustrating. The physician may be amazing but I certainly wont refer patients due to the support staff issues.
Dr Leiphart is a wonderful suregon. When I was awaken in recovery after 9 hours on the table, Dr Leiphart was standing buy my bed. He was very concerned about me and did a wonderful job with my surgery. If I had not found him I would be paralyzed today, instead I am leading an active life. In fact he has done two surgeries on me and if I ever need another I will find him where ever he is.
My surgery by Dr. Leiphart ended up in paralysis. It turns out I am not the only one. Beware and don't let this happen to you. It will ruin your life forever.
Dr. Leiphart is awesome. I'm not really worried about how much time he spent with me, or my wait time. This guy fixed me. It's been 5 years now and I'm still grateful for having found him. I have referred family and friends to him in the past and will continue to do so.
Had surgery on Friday, I told him in advance that pain management will be an issue for me. He swore it would be just fine. He LIED!. Still haven't as much as talked to him! He never even asked how I was. No phone calls, no visit. Won't address my pain issues. HORRIBLE! This is a nightmare for me! He won't even ask WHY I am having so much pain, Won't ask where it is originating, DOESN'T CARE. He only cares that you have good insurance. The Medical community is always hurt by quacks like this. I am so sorry I ever went to him. Don't make my mistake!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
