List of Jonathan Michael Mobley's Reviews
I accompanied my sister-in-law (SIL) who speaks limited English to her first visit with Dr. Mobley for further evaluation of highly suspicious kidney cancer. They only allowed one visitor in back with her likely due to COVID so my brother (her husband) waited in the waiting room. Since I am a nurse and understand medical lingo better than him, he wanted me to accompany her. Once the medical assistant (MA) took us back, I asked if he could join us since this was a very important visit given the likelihood of cancer and she said it was fine. I called my brother to let him know; however, despite him telling the front desk this and even giving the receptionist the name of the MA who said it was okay, he was not allowed back. I had to ask the MA to go to the waiting room to get him, which she did. I found this to be absolutely ridiculous but this was the lowest of my criticism for this office however as I can understand the receptionist just following their rules and needing confirmation from the MA herself. When Dr. Mobley came in he seemed distant. He hardly made eye contact with my SIL. He looked at the CT results that I had forwarded to his office prior to visit that referring doctor ordered. He asked if we had brought the CD of the CT but since we had not been asked to do so by his office, we had not. I even called receptionist after CT results were faxed from referring doctor's office to confirm they received it prior to appt with Dr. Mobley. Receptionist failed to mention bringing any CD. As soon as I told him we did not have the CD, he quickly stepped out and said he would be back. He came in and said to bring CD next time and that he was going to order some more tests anyhow. Here was my SIL thinking she would get some clarification about her health at this visit but Dr. Mobley failed to communicate effectively with her. I had to ask what the likelihood of cancer was and what would be the next steps if it were. He did respond adequately to the question saying likelihood was only 20% it was not cancer. He did not exam my SIL and again hardly made eye contact with her, let alone my brother or me. He then told us to follow him to receptionist to schedule 2 week follow up appt. After that was scheduled, I asked receptionist if we could have copy of CT results. She instead printed out abdominal ultrasound results so it was a good thing I looked at the paper she handed me before leaving. I told her immediately that it was the ultrasound result and that we needed CT result which I had faxed to their office. She claimed they did not have it on file; I told her the doctor just went over it with us and that they should have it. She started visibly getting upset although I remained calm and did not get an attitude with her. The MA who roomed my SIL heard this conversation and told receptionist that she would make copy for us. I then asked the receptionist for the lab slip as Dr. Mobley had ordered labs and we were told to go to Labcorp to get it done. She said they send the order over to them. I guess this is something new with electronic charting, but this was not explained to my SIL. Again, I had to ask for clarification. I truly feel for patients who speak limited English, who are not familiar with medical lingo, and/or who cannot advocate for themselves or have someone who can do so. I felt like my SIL would have left very confused if I had not been there with her. I wrote down the 4 things she needed to have done prior to her next appt w/ Dr. Mobley so she would not get confused. I did not accompany her to the follow-up visit but my brother did. The receptionist claimed they did not have a visit that day and my SIL had to be adamant that they did. Can you imagine having cancer in the back of your mind and then showing up to a follow-up appt being told you do not have an appt and/or you did not do everything you were supposed to and having further care delayed as a result?! His staff is a reflection of his practice. Horrible receptionists and distant doctor, although he seemed knowledgable. Overall not happy!
Only one visit with Dr Mobley, but it was short and uninformative. On another note, his front desk staff is doing him a disservice. They were indifferent, somewhat rude, and lacked any empathy. I've never felt so unwelcomed in a doctor's office. I have spoken to the staff manager, the only person who seemed interested, and explained the situation. She reassured me that this wouldn't happen again. Let's see how the next visit goes…
Find another office if you want to be treated in a timely and professional manner.!!! I called this office in mid-July for an appointment with Dr. M and the earliest I could be seen was at the end of August. I called the office again in late July and I explained that I I had previously been treated by Dr. M and was seeking an appointment before the end of August because I was in pain. I was told that it wasn't possible and told to seek medical attention elsewhere. No attempt was made to address patient's concerns. One star rating would be too generous.
Dr Mobley may be a good doctor but his inept, rude, and unprofessional staff makes him a skip. They do not return phone calls weeks after leaving detailed messages and make zero apologies when they finally decide to contact you. They change scheduled appointments the morning of, if I did that I would get charged for a missed appt. Avoid this doc, there are too many other good ones to choose from. Not worth the hassle
Absolutely not. Stay away from this entire practice at all costs. Horribly managed and impossible to see a doctor-even as an existing patient with urgent need. Will not allow you to see anyone except your one doctor-ridiculous.
What a horrible experience seeing Dr. Mobley. It started with a waiting room so full there were no seats available with an hour and a half wait. Dr. Mobley came in to what we will loosely call an exam, obviously rushed, asked minimal questions and when I said I had pain he did not ask where and even after I pointed to it he still did not examine me at all. He wrote on a paper, ordered tests, and sent me on my way. I don't even think the whole thing lasted 2 minutes. I had outside tests run and had to ask for the results multiple times since he did not call when they were supposed to, finally having staff call me. I had second thoughts about returning but unfortunately did for the test. I never even had the test done. The office staff was not helpful. They brought someone out from the back who was beyond rude and even rolled her eyes at me (um, I get enough of that from my teenage daughters thank you very much!). I left the office never to return, will get the rest elsewhere.
Dr. Mobley conducted surgery to remove a minor skin lesion for me this summer. Although it was non-symptomatic, I didn't want it to develope into anything serious. I had originally went to a different doctor for this matter, and had surgery, which turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. That doctor went over the procedure with me pre-surgery, but what he did during surgery was nothing like what we agreed on. After months of agonizing wait, my lesion was still there. So I decided to visit Dr. Mobley at this point. I was immediately put at easy with Dr. Mobley's caring manners. He took the time to listen and answer my concerns. His surgery team was very professional and courteous as well. My surgery was quick and I was made comfortable the whole time. Dr. Mobley followed up with me after surgery. I had a speedy recovery. I am completely worry-free now. I can't thank Dr. Mobley enough for his exceptional skills. He's the kind of doctor that can fix other doctor's mistakes!

Dr Mibley performed prostate cancer surgery nearly three years and today I feel great and cancer free! His skills with robotic surgery puts him at the top of the leader board in my opinion, and his kind and empathic approach is a rare find in doctors these days. Dr Mobley is a superstar in my book. He saved my life. Fred G. Winchester, VA
Thanks to Dr. Mobley’s caring and patient-friendly medical service during and following my 3 recent surgical procedures, I’m on the mend. A good doctor.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
