List of Kenneth R Mirkin's Reviews
Dr. Mirkin is very professional, knowledgeable, caring, patient and willing to answer all our questions.
Dr. Merkin was absolutely wonderful, patient, kind, understanding and thorough. He took the time to listen and address my elderly mothers needs.
I scheduled a virtual appointment for my mom weeks in advance because Dr. Mirkin was not available in person. She is unable to use my computer so she drove 30 minutes to my house for the appointment. Doctor was supposed to email me a link 30 minutes before my appointment. I did not receive the link so I called and waited on hold for 30 minutes. They said they would need to reschedule my appointment because I missed the time slot and were completely unwilling to accommodate us. We will find another doctor.
I scheduled a virtual appointment for my mom weeks in advance because he wasn't available for a timely in person visit. She can't use the computer so she drove 45 minutes to my house to do it. I was supposed to receive a link 30 minutes prior to the appointment and did not receive it, so I called the office. office completely botched the scheduling of my appointment - they failed to send the link, and when I called for the link I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes, at which point they said I had missed the window and they would have to reschedule.
Scheduled video visit weeks in advance. On the day of my appointment they failed to email me the link (said it would be sent 30 minutes prior to appointment). When I called to get the link, I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes, at which point they said they would have to reschedule because I missed the appointment. Terrible service, find another doctor!
Great doctor but impossible to get to speak to him. Couldn't make a follow up appointment for 8 weeks and only virtual. He told me to get back to him for treatment.
Dr. Mirkin was amazing. I am used to doctors just treating the presenting symptom but doctor Mirkin took the time to assist in creating a holistic treatment plan. I highly recommend this physician.
I have been a patient at GANV (Gastro Health) for three years with Dr. Kenneth Mirkin for my Crohns Disease. Up to this point, he has always been very curt at any check-in appointments, but I let it slide because I just needed someone to order routine blood work and prescribe my medication. Recently, I scheduled an appointment because I was having a lot of pain. He had me do a colonoscopy and ordered labs to check my Humira levels. One week after the colonoscopy, I had a follow up to discuss the results of the scope and bloodwork. He got on the zoom call and said "It looks like you have Crohns Disease. I'm surprised you haven't had any symptoms." He has seen me for the last 3 years because of my Crohns Disease and we JUST spoke a week ago, and he was shocked I even had the disease. He also asked me how I was treating it....answer: with the medication (Humira) he has been prescribing for me for 3 years. He then proceeded to order lab work to check my Humira levels. He also asked me how I was treating it....answer: with the medication (Humira) he has been prescribing for me for 3 years. He then proceeded to order lab work to check my Humira levels. When I told him we already did that, he had no recollection of ordering those labs, nor had his office received the results (which was the whole reason we waited a week for the follow up). He said he'd get back to me and rushed me off the call. Shortly after, I received my clinical summary notes, which stated that the colonoscopy showed hemorrhaging and ulcers in the GI tract. He did not tell me ANY of this. This is my body and my disease, I have a right to know what is happening in my body, and I have should be able to trust my doctor to 1) REMEMBER me and 2) take more than 3 minutes to analyze the problems, tell me what they are, and establish a care plan for me. I have tried to call and address my concerns with the Practice Manager, who will not call me back. When speaking with one receptionist to try and get through, he told me that Dr. Mirkin is over 70 and is going to retire soon, so he is probably not as focused. He continued to defend the poor practice of the doctor with no apology to me, the person in physical pain, at all. This is UNACCEPTABLE. As a direct result of Dr. Mirkin and his patient neglect, I will be leaving this practice and informing everyone of my experience via Google Reviews, Yelp, etc. This doctor needs to be removed from this practice and replaced with someone who has the mental capacity to remember who their patients are and take the time to help them get better.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
