I was having some eye issues and went to see my optometrist. She told me I needed to see a retina doctor right away or I could lose my vision. The doctor called a practice near my home, but no one was available or willing to see me on that Saturday. She then called Virginia Retina Specialists and I am so grateful that Dr. Malik not only saw me but helped me tremendously. He takes his expertise very seriously and he is all about taking care of what needs to be done in the best way possible. I am thankful that he is my retina doctor and I also am leaving this review to tell folks that if you have a retina issue -PLEASE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY- because it cannot wait and you need to see a doctor who is an expert in their field and Dr. Malik is just that.

This was my first visit. I was very impressed by Dr. Malik's approach, manner, and presentation. He answered questions clearly and made sure I understood. It is not often I have met a doctor, that although He was busy gave the time I needed, instead of behaving as if he felt rushed. Thank you

Front desk staff was very welcoming but I was disappointed with Dr. Malik. Dr. Malik did not review my chart with my medical history until I was leaving the exam room. I was relieved to know that I did not have a detached retina but he had no background to assess me and address my concerns. First degree relative with detached retina, glaucoma, macular degeneration, blindness. My eye pressures were elevated and he recommended eye drops but would not write for the prescription. I was referred to another specialist. Irresponsible.

Dr. Malik is a treasure. I had scary symptoms from a vitreous detachment on Friday night. I did not know what had happened or who to go to. An optical shop gave me his name. I left a message Saturday morning and he called me back immediately. I saw him 45 minutes later in his office - that wasn't even open- when he had no prior experience with me. He did a thorough exam and scheduled a follow-up. He explained everything in detail. I can't thank him enough. Most doctors do not provide this level of care even for long-time patients.

Highly recommend this practice. Intelligent doctor, nice staff, clean office, plenty of parking. I'm glad they got me in right away to treat my eyes. All my questions were answered but I forgot to ask a question while I was at my appointment. I called the office back after hours and I was surprised that the answering service connected me and I was able to speak to Dr. Malik directly. He really cares about his patients!
