Lino C Montilla's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Montilla was dismissive of my pelvic pain. During my appointment, I felt unheard. He failed to review my medical history, medications and did not order any additional scans or tests to diagnose my pelvic pain. I felt defeated leaving the office as someone with a history of uterine polyps and fibroids. I was very specific when I described my point and he said I don't know what that is and walked out of the exam room.

Dr. Mantilla delivered my 2 kids and he was wonderful. He is very patience and kind. He has been very assertive and helpful when I needed medication etc.

I went in for a check up and he was speaking to me in a very condescending tone. I believed I had been drug raped and told him I didn't want to start an investigation. Instead of being empathetic about the situation he says “You should have never told me because now I have to call the police.” Everything about the appointment started going downhill from there. He stepped out the room to check something in my patient records but I was not told to stay in the room. The nurse or assistant told me to wait in the room. He then says in a very smart alec way “Yeah, because we can’t discuss these things outside the exam room.” Honestly at this point I was getting irritated so I said out loud “I don’t like doctor.”. I went in the room and closed the door. He comes in seconds later and accuses me of throwing the rolling stool. LOL He thens goes on saying i’m being abusive and that I’m mistreating him and his staff and that I have to leave. I never had a problem with any other obgyns before.

The office didn’t give me any information about the colposcopy or how to prepare for it. I asked if the office to have the doctor talk to me so I could ask questions and not totally rely on Google. The front desk lady on the phone was irritated by that and wanted me to ask her my questions instead. I refused and politely asked to have the doctor call me, which shouldn’t be a big deal when dealing with your own health. No one ever called me bc I doubt the desk staff said anything to Dr. Montilla. On my appt. day he answered my questions but came off very uncaring as I teared up and expressed my frustration with how little info I got from his office. Never apologized and really just shifted blame. I could also feel his irritation towards me as when the procedure was done he didn’t even say goodbye or look me in the face. Not a good experience for me at all. Won’t be returning

I love Dr. Montilla best OB GYN..

I have been a patient of Dr. Montilla for 12 years. I have never had a bad experience with him. The only times I hated seeing him was when I miscarried ... 2 times, and I was a mess. Otherwise he has been great. He also performed surgery on my daughter when she was just 13. She has been seeing him since ... she is now 25. I think he is great.

Best doctor ever. I’ve had women gynecologists before and they were ok, but I’ve seen him several times for IUD issues and he’s been the best. I have experienced ZERO discomfort during examinations and he’s funny and honest and empathetic. I had a new IUD inserted this week and it was painless. Highly recommend.

I hope he retires soon and let’s vulnerable women see someone competent and caring instead. My favorite times were when he and his colleague, Dr, Thiara, would tell me different things at different appointments and behave as if I were a moron for following their instructions. I have had experience with a LOT of doctors. See someone else. You have an excellent chance of finding a better doctor elsewhere. Good luck!

The biggest issue I had with these doctors is when I actually went into labor. Dr. Montilla was my doctor and, although the nurses were excellent, Dr. Montilla was dreadful. I was crowning and while the nurses where prepping, he just sat there with his arms literally crossed. He then told me NOT to push so he could put on his gloves. This is one of the most vulnerable situations a woman can be in and he was acting like he was waiting for his order at the deli. Ridiculously unprofessional and uncaring. Perhaps for routine care, they are decent, but I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

This doctor's office does not have their ducks in a row. I went there while I was pregnant because the location was convenient, but I regret this immensely. They rarely checked my hormone level and then said I didn't provide a sample, although nobody asked me... guess I was supposed to know?
