Matthew Alexander Fitzer's Online Review Report Card

I had my Gastric Bypass with Dr. Fitzer in October of 2020. His team was amazing. They made sure I was well informed and prepared for my procedure and afterward they made sure I was healing well and able to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Now, I have a 3 month old baby. I only gained what was needed for a healthy baby and have lost it since sticking to the rules feom the dietitian.

Went with him because of the reviews and can say it was the best choice. I never had any issues with the staff everyone and everything I was given was very informative. I felt fully educated and prepared to have this surgery. And my surgery went amazingly. I have, and would continue to recommend him if your in the area or not and have to travel a little.

I highly recommend Dr. Fitzer and his wonderful staff to anyone who is considering weight loss surgery. They made the entire process smooth and Dr. Fitzer is a master at his craft.

It's been 10months now since I was sleeved. Dr. Fitzer and his team are the best. They give clear directions for the first 8 weeks so there are no questions on what I should and shouldn't eat. They are very supportive and ready to help. Stop looking and go with them, you wont regret it!!! (Picture not current but you can see the difference.)

I was recommended by my client that I was taken care off. And it was the best decision I ever made. They help me from day one I wasn’t afraid I wasn’t scared. They help me along the whole way. If I could give a 10 I would. Don’t take your life for granted if you can’t walk upstairs and out off breath. Or you 50 different medications just because off your weight. This is the person for you and the staff on point I must say. I can’t think them enough.

Had a good experience with Dr. Fitzer his PA and staff. surgery went well with no real complications. He's been in barriactics for many years. Always had excellent communication.Over a year out of surgery and they still check on me. I can always call with any questions or concerns.

Early November I did my by-pass surgery with Dr. Fitzer. Its about a month now and I can’t describe how great I’m feeling and foremost how happy I’m with the decision and the results so far. Since my first visit to Dr. Fitzer office at Virginia Bariatric Center in Reston, VA it was easy to see that I was in good hands. Dr. Fitzer team are very professional and extremely organized, it’s “one stop shop” for a life change experience. At the end of the first visit, (a) I was clear on what type of procedure was better for my need, (b) it was clear my insurance coverage, (c) not only the necessary next steps, but also who, where and when to help me conquer them and (d) all I needed to expect in terms of diet on the week preceding the surgery and 7 weeks after my surgery. Even a list of supplements, vitamins and protein shake that I would need was provided. So, as you can notice, I left my visit with a very comprehensive written package of what to do in the following weeks prior to surgery, a nutrition program, list of professionals for further evaluation, list of support group events and all Q&A that I could think of. Fitzer team also managed all correspondences with my insurance directly, no headaches and no burocracy. I had also the plus side to be informed frequently of the status of approval, etc. They also took care of all my hospital arrangements. I only had to follow their instruction and that was all. At the day of surgery, I met with Dr. Fitzer that once again, explained all the details of my procedure and recuperation expectation and process. All went exact as explained and planned. After surgery, I did not meet with Dr. Fitzer, but my wife did, and he provided all info she asked and was again extremely professional, polite and direct. While at hospital room, I got all the support from the Bariatric nurses, coordinator and physician assistant. They constantly were checking on my status and providing tips and suggestion on how to recuperate faster and easier. I left the hospital about 30 hours after surgery without ANY pain. I didn’t even used Tylenol. Once at home, following the dietitian program everything went well and smooth. The team was frequently checking on my status and they were all of them (including Dr. Fitzer) available for any questions 24/7 In summary, the entire Dr. Fitzer team works in full sync and harmony, every single one plays their part very well and the entire process I consider a success. I most certainly recommend this team for your life change experience.
