I have been so impressed with Dr Svestka, he removed my gallbladder and throughout the process, from pre-op to post-op, proved to be a caring, thoughtful, and supportive doctor. Dr. Svestka is one of the most caring doctors I have ever met. I told him today that he truly breaks the stereotype of a typical surgeon personality and he conveyed his desire to ensure that his patients truly feel they are cared for - I definitely felt that! Not only did he take wonderful care of me pre-op, throughout surgery, and post-op, but he invited me back to shadow him, as I am a premed! I could not recommend him enough!

Had a fantastic experience with Dr. Svestaka. Was taken from ER to hospital where Dr. Svestka performed my unexpected gallbladder removal. He has a great manner about him and my pre-op discussion was comforting. Post up follow-up a couple weeks later was great. I got lucky getting Dr. Svestka, if you have time and a choice I highly recommend him.

Dr. Svestka is pleasant, direct, and concise. He was very reassuring to my daughter. I reccomend him highly.

Dr. Svestka operated my umbilical hernia. He was very professional and took the time to answer all my questions. He understood my apprehensiveness towards mesh repair and handled that very well. The operation went very smoothly. I had very little pain and needed no medication so I attritube that to a job well done.

Dr. Svestka has listened well and explained clearly everything that was expected and everything that was done during my surgery. I'm really happy with his work, his manner, and the results he achieved.

On October 2020 I was diagnosed with a tumor (at the time they weren’t known) which turned out to be stage 3 colon cancer. Dr Svestka was my surgeon who removed the tumor and from start to finish kept me informed of the way it was to be removed and checked in on me daily to keep me posted til the surgery was performed. Outstanding doctor!

In August of 2020 I went to the hospital with severe intestine pain. They found a cancerous tumor. Dr Svestka was called in to perform the surgery to remove the tumor and also ended up removing 6" of my colon. Follow up visits were always professional, but caring, and he always checked in to see how the other aspects of my treatment (chemo,etc) were going. Highly recommend him not only for his skill, but "bed side manner" as well.

Dr. Svestka is a fantastic surgeon and person. I went to the Inova ER with severe pain. It turned out to be my appendix and the ER staff told me I needed surgery right away. I was very apprehensive and feeling quite uneasy about what was happening. Then I met Dr. Svestka. He spent some time explaining what I needed and how the procedure was done and what to expect post op. He was informative and his confident and kind demeanor quickly put me at ease. I knew I was in good hands. That turned out to be more than true. I went for a follow up at his office and Dr. Svestka again spent the time needed to answer all my question and make certain I was on a good track for the future. I highly recommend Dr. Michael Svestka. You won't find better.
