A true find. An excellent doctor, knows his stuff, professional, kind and courteous. Very well versed in diabetes treatment.

Dr Horwath is a wonderful doctor with excellent bedside manner. I went to him for several years. He has a sincere interest in your health and is extremely knowledgeable about endocrine health. It’s a shame that these ratings are reflecting Inova and not the doctor himself.

I agree with all the people who LOVE Dr Horwath but have problems with Inova. I just called today, the phone rang 15-20 times, then went to voice mail. Who knows if he will get my message? Trying to get refills for medicine is a nightmare. It is always a mess when dealing with Inova. I understand that Dr Horwath is retiring. I will miss him. He is a great doctor who really inspires me to do better. However, my next endocrinologist will NOT be a member of Inova.

Dr. Horwath has been my physician for more than 15 years. He has made a great and positive difference in my health. However, since he's become part of Inova I have had an overall miserable experience trying to get a hold of someone to confirm or change an appointment. Today I called for over one hour and have only gotten voice mail for both the front desk desk and the nurse. In addition, the Inova restrictions on how much time the Doctor can spend talking to a patient, diagnosing the issue, and discussing care have impacted the quality of care service. It is very clear to me that Inova is interested only in throughput/revenue and NOT patient care and their experience in getting it. It is unfortunate that a really great doctor like Dr Horwath has to put up with such poor administrative support and restrictive care rules! Bad Inova! Bad!

I would highly recommend Dr. Michael Horwath to anyone that is need of an amazing doctor that truly cares about you and your health. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field and you can trust what he tells you, no fluff, just straight talk. Love you doc

Never had problems with staff. Dr. is extremely punctual. Extremely caring and conversational.

So I have been a diabetic for almost 13 years now and as I have come to know; a good Endocrinologist is a diamond in the rough. I have heard through the grape vine of friends that he is a diamond. I have been through many emotional scars from a few and was not satisfied with the one I had. I had to wait until January of 2017 but I knew it would be worth it. I felt so much compassion and inspiration from my first appointment. It wasn't just about my numbers. It wasn't just about my readings. It was about how I was doing as a whole. Only 2 other Endo's I had before has done that for me. It was a breath of fresh air. I finally got the quality care that I have been searching for and I hope to stay for many years to come. It isn't always an easy road but it helps when someone cares about you as much as he does. Update: I am still seeing Dr Horwath and while I agree with many that the office staff needs to be harassed to make sure they get a simple fax and the NP can cop an attitude when you call her on the wrong day. I still see a brighter benefit to seeing Dr Horwath than not. My A1C used to be close to a 10 but now its at a 7.3- 7.7. I would have never been able to make this kind of progress if it wasn't for the fact that I started seeing him. He gets it. I wish every other Endo I had, shadowed him for a day. They can learn something about patient care and bed side manner. It makes a world of a difference. Nothing to prove, willing to share and not just numbers on a page.

It is nearly impossible to get someone to speak to you when you need to. And that is pretty bad in the health industry. I was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Horwath a few months ago, who is a very professional and knowledgeable doctor, but I have been trying to call to learn if I have balances with them and all I get is a busy tone. I have also tried to re-schedule an appointment and same thing. Unfortunately I will be switching doctors, I wouldn't want to have an emergency one day and my doctor be nowhere to be found.

I've been trying to get an appointment for several days now and the phone is never answered.
