Murliya Gowda's Online Review Report Card

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Gowda. The attention and care she gave my brother is phenomenal. My brother had a stroke back in August, which left him speechless and without movement on his right side. My brother was in-and-out of rehab facilities and the hospital and he finally ended up in Fairfax Innova, where Dr. Gowda was one of his doctors. I am so grateful to God for allowing her to be one of the members of his care team. Her patience with him in learning how to understand what he was conveying, showed that he was not just another 'case' to her, but an individual. Equally, her patience with us, the family, in answering our questions and explaining his condition in a language that we could understand gained my utmost respect for her. On his first follow-up appointment, she noticed the smallest of things and brought this to our attention (ex, his pic-line did not have a cap on it, nor was it locked), which showed negligence of the rehab facility (not her words but mine). She also noticed his shortness of breath and showed sincere concern for a rash he developed, giving a couple of scenarios that could have caused the rash. She had us take him to ER, which she called them ahead of time to inform them we were on our way. He was again admitted and she was yet again, a member of his care team. Her bedside manner, genuine care, and medical professionalism has moved me beyond words and I can truly say she is ROCK STAR in my book. Thank you, Dr. Gowda. I appreciate all that you have done in caring for my brother.

What a memory! She always seems to remember me when I have to come in for an office visit. And importantly knowledgable and helpful.

Dr. Gowda doesn't really want to listen to you or talk much. She could be a wonderful person personally, but lacks compassion towards the patient. She is frequently late and appointments need to be rescheduled with her. Her staff will typically cover for her by stating "She is running late from the hospital". Definitely needs better time management and respect towards others.

Dr. Gowda is great!! Highly recommend

This doctor is a self-centered, know it all who doesn't listen at all to her patients. Do not see her!

I am American Egyptian Living now in overseas after retiring. I visited the US on an emergency basis because I had an ulcer in my right foot. All the doctors in Egypt decided that there is no way and that part of my foot will be amputated. I was desperate when I visited Dr. Gowda office. After checking my foot , she decided that there is some hope. After 6 weeks of the best treatments ever , I am back again to normal and that ulcer is gone. Dr. Gowda is now my gift from Heaven and I cannot find enough words to thank her and her team the way they deserve. Best Regards Gamal Aladel

I personally had a negative experience with Dr. Gowda. The appt was easy to make, but I had a long wait time, difficult to juggle with kids. Dr. Gowda was not as thorough as I would have liked. I definitely feel she could have spent more time discussing my issues with me and generally investigating the medical problems. I felt she was distracted and I also thought she was a little arrogant. I think doctors should examine other doctors opinions before passing judgment. I personally will not be returning.

Some of these make no sense. I've been going to see this lady for many years. She is among the most caring and kind individuals I have ever known, let alone being a skilled MD who is an absolute perfectionist in her specialty. I was referred to her by a friend who has also been her patient for about 10 years. Dr. Murliya Gowda ALWAYS calls to see how I am doing in the early evenings a day or two after my appointments. Always makes sure I am protected with all the current vaccinations. Goes through my Meds list with a fine toothed comb making sure there are no interactions. Absolutely obsessed with my welfare. Even knows the names of my kids. I would not trade her for anyone else.

Doc caught me off guard...concerns, however small, matter...I am paying you for this. It ain't free. You don't get to act like any medical problem is stupid to be worried about.
