I have known Dr Ospina for over three years and can say that he is an excellent doctor. He has a great bedside manner, asks a good amount of questions, listens to and addresses my concerns, and his treatment plan has worked for me.Dr Ospina's front office has been fine in my experience. Dr Ospina is the best listener of the neurology group associated with INOVA. I have a migraine every time the barometric pressure changes. It took 2 years of testing first then the NORMAL process of trial and error to figure out what medication could help. Medical treatment for migraines, like emotional disabilities, is more an art than science because each brain is different and responds to medications differently.Patience and being gentle and kind during the learning curve is crucial for both the person affected and the doctors trying to help.

Love, love, love Dr. Ospina. As a family nurse practitioner, I refer patients to him frequently. But several members of his front desk staff and just super hostile ALL THE TIME. If they cancel an appt b/c he is going to be "out of town," after I've taken off work, no big deal. If I cancel because my car is not running due to recent flooding, BIG DEAL. Further, instead of just stating the cancellation policy, the front desk staff want to berate you for your cancellations. If this occurred at my practice, they'd be looking for new jobs.

Dr Ospina had been seeing my father now for about 7 years at the old practice and we followed him to the next practice. He's patient with his personality "foibles" and more than willing to treat him as a person, not "at this point not worth investigating." Finding a doctor that doesn't do that, is with his weight on gold.

Dr. Ospina is the first doctor in quite some time to take very careful notes during a visit. I did not feel rushed and I feel as though he listened to my concerns before giving a diagnosis or meds.

Dr. Richard Ospina is a excellent Neurologist. He is honest, trustworthy, caring, fabulous bedside manners, finds the root of the problem then the solution. He takes time with his patients and listens. His communication skills are marvellous. I can't say enough how he helped and is still helping our Mother and has put our family at ease. Thank you so very much Dr Richard Ospina.
