Sonia C Thomas's Online Review Report Card

We have been to several doctors for our son and Dr. Thomas is one of the two best psychiatrist. The other retired 10 years ago. She is patience, methodical and very knowledgeable about medicine and neurological issues. She is honest about different medicines and their effects and sensitive to the needs of her patients. She takes time when needed to work through issues.

We’ve been seeing Dr Thomas for over 5 years. She has great experience and is sensitive to the needs of her patients. She is very knowledgeable about medicines and their effects and is methodical in her approach. We highly recommend her.

It's is impossible to get appointment for testing! Called in July and was told they were scheduling for September, but I had to call back in August to get in line. Called back in August and was told the waiting for testing is 2-4 months and I would have only 12 hours to call back when I would get message from them. Got phone call today - with no message, called back and the receptionist refused to help, just switched me to the voice mail. I don't know if we ever can get in! NO helpful information. I saw the reviews for the doctor are great, but it this point I am not sure if we want to deal with such rude, mean, careless staff.

Doctor Thomas has followed my son since he was in middle school and he is now in high school and she has literally saved our son and our family. Her expertise and calm and reassuring demeanor attribute to her success as a psychiatrist.

Dr Thomas takes as much time as is needed to carefully work with my child at each visit. She is compassionate and caring. She has knowledge of resources in the community and has made wise referrals for my child. I appreciate her nonjudgmental approach and willingness to work with our whole family. While the wait times can be long, I know that once our appointment time comes we will have her full attention for as long as we need it.

I echo what others have said. Dr. Thomas is an excellent doctor. She communicates well with both children and parents. She spends as much time as is needed with us, and truly cares about her patients. She has also called us on the phone on a few occasions to provide additional info or ask questions. We trust her knowledge and experience, especially in dealing with mood disorders. Our son was in the PHP program for several weeks and we worked closely with her. Better than any other doctor we've seen, and there have been a lot in his short life!

We had almost given up hope for our bipolar son and emotionally exhausted family until we met Dr. Thomas. Not only is Dr. Thomas knowledgeable in her field, but truly has earned the respect from our son as she communicates to him with insight, experience and helpful examples to get her points across. I remember one evening where I had almost given up all hope and felt our family couldn't handle my son's physical outbursts and out-of-control behavior any longer. Dr. Thomas called me and spent quite a bit of time listening and comforting me. Shortly thereafter, she urged us to put our son into a short-term mental facility that could give him the structure, support, and therapy needed to regulate our son. This was probably one of the most difficult things our family has undergone, but we trusted Dr. Thomas' opinion and it truly saved our family. Our son returned home with new coping skills and a better understanding of himself thanks to all the counseling he received. If it weren't for Dr. Thomas, I know our family could never have survived. . . . . and we continue to see her as she keeps a watchful eye on our son's behavior and holds him accountable for all his actions. He does not want to disappoint her.

Dr Thomas has been so helpful and very involved in our daughters psychiatric health. Dr Thomas is very informative and makes sure we understand all the side effects of medicines and answers all our questions. When our daughter was in crisis she really stepped up and made us feel like we could manage this when we had our doubts.

I have a special needs child, only does what you ask instead of her ideas,wait time long every time gets us out quick. Not compassionate and referred us to a facility that was horrible. Not what was advertised and only worried about getting you in and out
