I m thankful to this amazing doctor
I am truly impacted and beyond blessed by Dr Akbari and her team. The minute I walked in I was welcomed and greeted immediately. The front desk check in staff were very friendly. Alexis welcomed me with a big smile, Joana the surgical scheduler is so thorough with her work and cares deeply about her patients. Claudia the nurse is very through and deeply care about her patients. I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen by Dr Akbari, she saw me on time. She was very attentive when I was asked to share about my medical history. She cared about what I was sharing. She shared heartfelt words of sympathy after I shared my medical history. She was very attentive to my husband as he shared as well. She deeply cares about her patients like her own family. I felt loved, safe and comfortable to share what I have been through medically. She let me know I am here for you and here to give you the best care. I gave her the biggest hug and felt so happy that she was going to care for me.
Dr Akbari, Joana, Claudia, Alexis and to your Amazing Medical Team I am truly impacted and beyond blessed by Dr Akbari and her team. The minute I walked in I was welcomed and greeted immediately. The front desk check in staff were very friendly. The front desk was very thorough with collecting my information and sent me forms ahead of time to complete. My information was copied immediately and given back. I was seen on time. This was my first time at the office and it truly was an amazing experience for me. The office is so beautiful, very clean, shiny hallways and has a beautiful modern look. Alexis called my name I was greeted very kindly. As I walked with her she had the biggest smile on her face and made me feel very welcomed to be there, by the way let me say it again this is my first time at the office. The staff was very friendly and very timely. My weight and blood pressure was checked immediately and I was taken to the room right after. Alexis was very sweet. ❤️❤️ I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen by Dr Akbari, she saw me on time. She made me feel so important. She made me feel that what I said and shared matters deeply to her. She is a high skilled surgeon, and very thorough. She checked me and gave me very insightful information and followed up with me about next steps. I was so impacted by her that I am beyond blessed that she is taking care of me and part of my life. ❤️❤️🙏🏼🥰 Next I met her surgical scheduler Joana. My goodness she was also very sweet. She showed my husband and I how much she cared about us too. The paperwork was ready with the surgery date that best worked for me. She explained all the details. She also heard our story and gave us her heartfelt sympathy. Joana deeply cares about her patients. She made us laugh, she turned my tears as I shared my history to smiles. She let me know we care about you, and you are not alone. We all are with you. She cared about me and my husband. She is the most prompt an amazing person when it comes to completing paperwork on time with no delay. She is soooo amazing!! Anytime I called Joana with a question, I would either get to her right away and if I left a message on her voicemail, she got back to me promptly. Dr Akbari you have such a beautiful staff❤️❤️ Next I met Claudia the nurse, she was awesome too. She had all the paperwork ready to explain the procedure. She went through each detail slowly and thoroughly explained post surgery details. She always made sure to ask us if we had any questions after each detail. She gave me a Wonder Woman drain belt. She was very kind to us, and cared deeply about me and and my husband. Whenever I called Claudia if I had a question, she would answer it. She would end the call with, did I get all your questions do you have anything else you would like to ask. Dr Akbari you truly have an amazing staff❤️❤️ I am truly blessed and thankful that my oncologist referred me to Dr Akbari and her amazing team. Thank you from my heart to all of you for being Amazing, for being so loving, for being so caring, for being so flexible, for being so prompt with care, and for caring about your patients like your own family. God bless each and every single one of you and I pray the practice flourishes beyond what you guys can imagine. You guys touched my heart and life in ways I don’t even know how to express, and these heartfelt words I share are an ant size to what my heart feels for you all. Love to you all and thank you for touching my heart and impacting my life❤️❤️❤️
Unfortunately I can’t say anything for Dr Akbari as I never got to see her but her office staff and scheduling are the worst. I waited patiently for an appt from may to august to have to it canceled because she had a surgery. Ok, no problem but then they wouldn’t fit me in anywhere on the days that I was normally off. I decided to take a PTO day so that I could see her end of September and the day before the appointment I was called that she had to cancel again. I was quite upset since I have been waiting since May. Now they tell me there are no appointments left to see her and they were moving me to another doctor in the practice. Bree had to talk to the coordinator to get that scheduled. I asked her how long it would take to reach the coordinator (thinking she would call me by COB) and she said she would call me back next week 🤬. Two weeks later I have yet to hear from that office. Beware of cancellations and incompetent staff. You have to wait months for an appointment and may still not be seen. Btw I’m also a practitioner and I see patients on a daily basis so I understand the gruels of being in a busy practice but this is unacceptable for patients. Do not trust this practice as they do not follow thru and have no empathy for patients.
Dr. Akbari is an amazing and highly-skilled surgeon, very knowledgeable and experienced. She is also certified in ultrasound technology. She did ultrasound-guided wire-locations and excisions all in one short surgical session, very fast and precise. My after-surgical pain was minimal and the wound healed fast, and the incision is hardly visible! I truly appreciate Dr. Akbari. The whole office team is also wonderful, very warm, efficient and helpful with scheduling and insurance. Thank you very much!
Dr. Stephanie Akbari and her staff are awesome. I’m very grateful she is my doctor, who I trusted completely under her care at VCS.
This woman was dismissive and not up to date on medical literature. She accused me of finding my information on Facebook. I have my doctorate and read published medical journals (she didn’t know that). She used scare tactics, “we need to get this taken care of immediately!” Even though it took me 4 months to actually get in for an appointment.
I am from Spain and I had cancer 10 years ago when I was 29 years old. Now, I am leaving in DC and I need to look for a Dr. 2 months ago I had a mammogram in Spain and they said I need an Ultrasound because they saw a small cyst thatbit should be bad but with my records I would need to get a ultrasound. I tried to get an appointment with Dr. Akbari and the person in the front desk was very rude. She kept asking me for my records (which I have in spanish), she said I need to get translated the 100 pages. I asked her to give me the appointment so we can start from there and She refused completely . I am very disappointed
Dr. Akbari and staff from the beginning of my journey through this cancer maze have provided the most supportive information, and absolutely immeasurable reassurance on the days when I was truly a basket case. Dr.Akbari never rushed through my examinations and patiently listened to my concerns. She continues to carefully monitor my recovery process and I appreciate HER beyond words 💕
Dr. Akbari is obviously a great physician, providing great quality, compassionate care. But uncompassionate and poor communication from staff can really make a terrifying experience even worse. I initially called asking to make an appointment after an abnormal mammography result (that needs to be biopsied). I was told Dr. Akbari was booked until May and would then only be available for consultation. Obviously I need care before then, so I called back the next day asking for a referral to another Physician. I was then told that all the Physicians in the practice are also booked until May. I've had Doctor's offices give referrals to Physicians outside their practice so I'm not sure why the receptionist refused to do the same. What I do know is that EVERY woman will know someone or be the woman in my situation in their lifetime. I pray that they have more help than I was given finding a solution they're not only comfortable with but that could be life saving, than I did.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
