**DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR...DO NOT GO PSV.** In my life I did not see any doctor like Terry. My daughter have neuro delayed deployment issue. When I saw him 1st time he could not figure out. Saying come back after 6 month . We will see. After 6 month he couldn't give any solution. My daughter delayed deployment diagnosed by her Rehabilitation Doctors and that doctor told me to see neurologist to get more treatment.
Absolute awful and unprofessional!. He was referred by our primary for my daughter with certain headache, even saw her MRI which was ordered by her eye specialist, came back after 10 minutes of reviewing the MRI which we brought to him for him to review, said she has migraines, and said just to take advil. Wow, Advil really??? He suggested nothing more, provided nothing more, didn't want a follow up, like he didn't care if we ever came back to see him ever! My daughter suffered all that time with awful migraine, not headache. Yes, there's a difference. Took her to another neurologist who prescribed her proper medications, he even ordered up to date MRI and other tests, amazing!!! Do not waste your time with Watkins. We have wasted valuable time and sufferings with no proper care. Saw him twice with useless advice. Do not waste your valuable life or your love one with this man.
We recently had a consult with Dr. Watkins. Overall, it was ok but had serious enough concerns not to trust his judgement and or return for a second consult. In the practioner's favor, Dr Watkins spoke directly to my child and attempted to establish rapport. There were several RED FLAGS. An "intern" was present w/o my consent...it was more of a "by the way" this medical student will be here too. It is unknown if the hospital intern contribute to the consult. The most egregious was Dr. Watkins' recommendation to try an OTC therapy that is NOT approved by the FDA over a treatment that has been evaluated as safe for treatment of presenting working diagnosis. When asked if he had a stake in ownership and or conflict of interest, he became visibly shaken and defensive. RED FLAG! "Why would you even ask such a thing". he asked. Lastly, Dr Watkins NEVER provided a differential diagnosis, which should be a part of EVERY consult. No one doctor knows everything.

I just want you to know if you ever read this review. If you had helped me when I cried and begged and told you that something was wrong. If you had listened or believed me or just ran a few tests it would’ve changed my life. But you didn’t. I convinced myself that all my symptoms were in my head like you told me and I practically died. I will never blame anyone for my own actions. But it was because of your advice that I made my decision to fight through until I couldn’t any longer. And that almost cost me my life. I saw you when I was 16. I’m now 21. I have complications and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover. I dropped out of high school because I got so sick and I couldn’t go to college. I really hope the next patient you see that cries and begs you to help I hope you try. A few tests could change the whole outcome of someone’s life. My life is completely ruined because doctors like you refused to help me. I’m leaving this here because you were probably the worst I ever encountered and you were the one I trusted the most.
My son was scheduled with him after we saw his PCP and was referred to see a neurologist. He has the best bedside manner when it comes to kids. He does little tricks to keep it more funny, rather than have the child be nervous like most kids are at drs apts. He was also very patient and asked numerous questions to make sure he covered everything about my son. I would recommend him to anyone.
He was wonderful! Great bedside manner, very engaging, very helpful in giving us information.
I have had great experiences with Pediatric Specialists of Virginia, and we adore their pediatric neurologist, Dr. Raquelle Langdon. But if you have a child with headaches, STAY AWAY from Terry Watkin. My son was hospitalized by his pediatrician in April 2016 for a debilitating headache he'd had for over a week straight. After the MRI, the radiologist confirmed and detailed a severe Chiari I Malformation. Also in the MRI was a brain Arteriovenous Malformation that Johns Hopkins later diagnosed. But Watkin told my child and me that his headaches had no physical basis, Chiari I was a made-up internet diagnosis, and he was a Type A perfectionist kid causing his own stress. The AVM was destabilizing and getting ready to cause a catastrophic stroke. That required an 8-hour brain surgery to remove. The Chiari I still left him with a permanent headache because of restricted CSF flow, and it was only after a second, 4-hour brain surgery he was finally headache free. But that man couldn't be bothered to properly read an MRI and told a 9 year old he was the cause of his own pain.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
