Chris Mcconnell Md's Online Review Report Card

I was very troubled and disappointed to receive a bill for my night guard that was several hundred dollars above the initial estimate they gave me. I came to the initial appointment and told them I could not proceed unless I knew I could afford the night guard so when they were unable to contact my insurance, I told them I would wait to hear. They called and told me my estimated amount and so I made an appointment to get the night guard made, assuming that would be the price. I called when I received the bill that was roughly twice what I was expecting, and Lori said the estimate is just an estimate and that she can call five times and get five different estimates from five different employees at the insurance company. I asked her what was the point of estimates and she said I should have asked for a preauthorization. I asked her why she didn't give me that option and she said she did because she always did (she didn't), and then she said that it didn't matter because a preauthorization wouldn't guarantee the amount anyway. If she had been transparent that they have no idea what my insurance would cover originally, I would have walked out and never looked back. I have never had an issue with an estimate not matching the final bill! But they probably knew that and that's why they gave me a significantly lowballed amount initially. I feel misled and coerced into purchasing this device and I could never recommend this dentist.

Over the past 15 years, Dr. McConnell has treated me and my family. He is very caring, gentle and detail oriented. He is very knowledgeable about the latest procedures and takes the time to answer my questions in a way that I can understand. I trust Dr. McConnell completely! He and his staff make going to the dentist much easier! I wouldn't trust anyone else to my dental care. Dr. McConnell is the Best!!
