Awesome doctor, the best pediatrician in the area!

Dr. Engtow is absolutely wonderful! My 9 month old was diagnosed with cows milk and soy protein intolerance at about 2 months old and it was really hard to find a pediatrician who knows about nutrition and intolerances and doesn’t just push formula when I wanted to breastfeed. Dr. Engtow has the best bedside manner, is personable and easy to talk to. And she listens. As a first time mom, she eased my worries and made me feel more confident. Everyone including the front desk staff and the nurses were so welcoming, friendly and made me feel very comfortable. So happy to finally have found a pediatrician we love!

I am writing this review with lot of pain and suffering. My daughter (first kid) failed new born hearing test 3 times and passed 4th time (Incorrect diagnosis). Reston hospital faxed these results to her and this doctor never alerted or asked us to monitor hearing. I doubt this doctor even looked at those results. I took my daughter for follow up appointments but she never asked any question related to hearing or alerted us....later at 2 years 6 months my daughter's blood test reveal that she is deaf by birth. If she would have alerted us during our follow up appointments with her after my daughter's birth, my daughter would have cochlear devices implanted at an early age. Now we are struggling with many issues because of late diagnosis of hearing loss. This should not happen to any other kid. If pediatrician can't alert parents then why these followup appointments with Pediatrician after new born.

My daughter was born deaf, she failed 3 new born hearing tests and passed 4th one (false test). Reston hospital faxed new born hearing tests to Capital Area Pediatrics and this Doctor never alerted us or referred my daughter for a hearing test. We parents recognized hearing problem and approached ENT and it was too late for my daughter to receive cochlear implant. If she would have alerted us during wellness checkup, my daughter would have received cochlear implant at an earlier age.
