I am a doula who has supported numerous births in the Northern Virginia area. I supported a client at INOVA Fairfax Hospital who had Dr. Chakrabotry as her on-call doctor. This doctor proceeded to use every unethical tactic to persuade my client to have a CS, although my client’s original OB agreed she can have a trial of labor if all looked good with the baby. Chakrabotry used coercive, abusive, degrading language to elicit fear and uncertainty. My client was in the throes of active labor and was begging her to listen and participate in fair dialogue of her options. Chakrabotry stormed out of the room when my client wouldn’t consent. When it came time to deliver, Chakraborty had a sour attitude and made numerous condescending remarks. After the delivery of the placenta, the barbaric way she handled my client was worse than how farmers handle animals. She yelled at my client and she even remarked: ‘I told you not to do this anyway. It was clear Chakraborty was physically punishing my client for not agreeing to a Cesarean. This woman is an unethical, disgusting, rude, brutal doctor. How she has made it this far in the medical field without reprimand reminds me that the medical system sweeps complaints under rug... or women are not speaking up enough. She should never place her hands on the body of any woman. She is not compassionate, fair, reasonable, and she lacks bedside manners. It is clear the nurses do not want to tread on her toes and it’s pitiful. DO NOT TRUST THIS DOCTOR. You will regret it, especially if you are seeking a positive and healthy birth experience. Obstetric violence is real, Chakrabotry is proof."

I don’t know if she has a problem with people in a certain ethnic background however Do not go to her. Bed side manner was horrible! Even in the doctors office. Told me I needed a c section which was a lie. And the way she told me was horrible. Then after she said there wasn’t a reason. Did so much research and everything I experienced was normal. Also once my baby was here and she said that she said but you will most likely have another c section again. Even at the doctors office she was rude a dismissive and no support of the mother. Please reconsider her as your doctor. Go to another doctor!!

I would not recommend this doctor anyone

She provide a very bad service. I would not recommend this doctor to expecting moms.

Dr. Chakraborty is easily one of the best O.B./G.Y.Ns in the DMV area. She’s a very firm doctor and will tell you how it is, but she’s very compassionate and cares very much about her patients. If something is not feasible and may do more harm than good, she will tell you that. If you’re doing something to danger yourself or your baby, she will also tell you that. I would say that every patient I have talked to about her absolutely loves her, and so do her staff and colleagues. Going to her, you would get the best possible care. I highly recommend her!

I would never recommend Dr. Chakraborty - she is a dangerous doctor that is not thorough. She almost killed me by leaving the placenta inside of me after my natural birth and even went as far as to tell me to walk off migraines and told my insurance that I didn't want to go back to work even though I had vaginal bleeding in my third trimester and the other doctors at her practice had said to take medical leave. She is dangerous and I would be weary of her services.

Capital Women's Care and Dr Gurdian and Dr Specter are good. Dr Chakraborty, however, was a nightmare from the beginning. On her first consultation she told me to walk off my migraine condition which is genetic and she told my insurance I should be fine to go back to work even though the other doctors had put me on leave due to bleeding I was experiencing in my third trimester. Dr Chakraborty was unfortunately the doctor on call when I delivered my baby (naturally) and left the placenta inside of me. I became sick the following week after my labor and eventually the decaying placenta pieces fell out of me and I was rushed to the emergency room. She never followed up and is a dangerous doctor. Please avoid for your own safety.

This doctor was not thorough; not personable and almost killed me by leaving my afterbirth inside of me after my labor.

I must say she is a very good doctor. Very professional, Knowledgeable and easy to talk with . Am so glad finally i got my permanent O&G doctor .
