List of Bikram S. Bal's Reviews
I’ve seen at least 5 different gastro doctors for my chronic condition. I’ve recently moved in the area and my primary care physician recommended Dr. Bal. He has been WONDERFUL.
Yes, I had both a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Dr. Bal and his office did a good job of explaining the procedures and providing support. Though the wait time was a bit long before my office visit, he was thorough and very personable during our initial meeting. Once I was there for the procedure. Everything was right on time and he did a thorough followup.

Staff is the pits. Attitudes are indifferent and insensitive regarding scheduling appointments.

Very smart, extremely well trained ( at Georgetown, which is a top training program). Keeps up with medical literature., personable. However, since he covers procedures and hospital care as well as outpatient visits, many outpatient visits are handled by his Midlevel nurse practitioner. This is how most specialists handle things, but I do not find her charming.

Horrible. He spent more time telling me when NOT to contact him then caring about my pain. He’s not in the medical profession to help people. He’s in it for the money. Stay away. You’re just wasting your time. I now drive and hour to see a doctor in Richmond and he is amazing. I wish I didn’t waste my time with Dr Bal.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
