I went to Dr. Bowen for a 2nd opinion for pain in my ankle that would not go away after a previous surgery done by another doctor. Dr. Bowen listened to me, did the necessary tests, and discovered multiple issues that were not fixed by the first doctor. Dr. Bowen did surgery to fix the problems, and I can now walk without being in pain all the time. He did a fantastic job! I am so thankful that Dr. Bowen took the time to listen, answer questions, and address any concerns I had along the way. I would HIGHLY recommend him!

Dr. Bowen performed my surgery for a bimalleolar ankle fracture. As a runner, I feared I would never run again, or at least in the capacity I was able prior to the break. I truly believe that Dr. Bowen being so meticulous was the reason I've now been able to complete a half marathon 9 months after surgery and a full marathon 14 months post surgery. He also answered texts right away when I had concerns. I can't recommend him enough!!

Dr. Bowen knows sports injuries. He was able to rapidly diagnose and describe the tendon damage I had after a horse riding accident. He was able to describe in a just a few minutes what he would do to correct the damage via surgery, and, how much time it would realistically take to go from operation to full recovery. His assessments were spot-on. Thanks to Dr. B. I am making a full recovery, following his protocols to the letter.

One star is being generous. “Dr” Bowen unfortunately was my WC provider (one visit). Defense attorneys got to him ($) and he changed his opinion of my injury months after he saw me. I don’t recommend him at all but different strokes for different folks .Update..Probably cost me $100k settlement! Worker’s Compensation Laws in Virginia favor corporations and not the injured worker, lawyers can pay these “conferences” with physicians ($500) to get them to say things to bolster their arguments to lessen their exposure. Unfortunately I’m still experiencing difficulties with my work injury although I had to settle for a far lesser amount. I have no hard feelings, but just an honest account of what I experienced with this office. Good luck.

I’m 24 about to be 25 and I was very nervous about doing the joint fusion because it was a 50/50 chance I would heal greatly or heal poorly like my previous surgery. Well luckily for me Dr Bowen did an amazing job and my placement/healing process came through immaculately, he even suggested I try some short/medium distance running which he told me I’d probably never be able to do again because my foot doesn’t work like that anymore, well turns out I can because I healed so well. Truly thankful for Dr Bowen and his team because I was worried I wouldn’t be able to go back to normal life because of arthritis and they came through and fixed me right up to better than I was before!!

Dr Bowen is kind, caring and compassionate . He talks to you more like friend than a patient. He explains what he is going to do, in simple terms, so you understand easily. I had surgery and his team were as kind as he is, never, have I had such a nice experience and I have had several surgeries. Thank you Dr Bowen, I appreciate all you did for me. Donna Baker

Dr. Bowen is a great guy who always answered all my questions (no matter how many) and explained everything in detail. He is caring, communicative, and never seems rushed. I never had any pain either right after my foot surgery or now almost three months later. The staff at the Stafford office is also efficient and very customer-service oriented. The physical therapists at the Stafford office are also true professionals providing excellent care and attention to small details. Thanks to all!!!!

I took my daughter to see Dr Bowen for a broken ankle. He was so kind, informative, and professional. I really appreciated his honesty and how he really seemed to care about my daughter’s injury, and how motivated he was to have her taken care of. She may require surgery and I feel comfortable allowing Dr Bowen to care for my child.
