List of Neal K Maru's Reviews
My wife and I visited Dr. Maru, he was very helpful and actually took the time to explain the process to both of us. Very professional and easy to talk to. He will be highly recommended to any and all of our family and friends in the future. We have found a Doctor that we will definitely return to. Thank you Dr. Maru!
He's super kind and compassionate. He didn't brush me off or dismiss me like most Drs. Also, the ladies at the front are super sweet.
Just tossed a bunch of medicine (that never works) at you.
Dr. Maru is outstanding in the field of Neurology and Sleep Issues. The people who wrote bad reviews about him must have had other issues going on in their lives. I went to Dr. Maru numerous times and he could not have been more thorough. There are so many people out there who think that they know more than the doctor. I do not believe he was ever rude to anyone. I think it was more the patient telling him what he needs to do. I have seen this numerous times. If you ask a question, wait a minute and he will respond in a way that a patient could understand.
I have been a patient of Dr. Maru for over 7 years now. I can proudly say he is one of the best Neurologist practing today. Dr. Maru approaches your treatment from a human level, he listens to your concerns and tailor a treatment plan that will best serve you. Unlike some previous doctors in my past, Dr. Maru has never tried to overly medicate me, nor has he kept me in a endless cycle of medical testing for insurance cash grab. As a matter of fact, Dr. Maru, gave medical advice unrelated to my neurological matters that my primary doctor was utterly wrong about, literally saving my life. In conclusion, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Neal Maru for all of your neurological needs. He will work tirelessly on behalf.
Dr Maru was very caring and thorough. Set reasonable expectations and recovery time.
Nice visit - Dr. Maru was very personable and open to answer any questions.
Looking at the previous reviews, I can say that all of the reviews are spot on, even the negative ones. The problem is inconsistency. Initially, during my first visit, he was very knowledgeable. He listened and attempted to get to know me as a patient. I liked that he looked me straight in the eye. At about the 3rd or 4th visit, I began to see a flippant demeanor that I shrugged off as fatigue. I understand that as I am a teacher. Then, during one visit I arrived after having not returned after a while. I didn't want to say I was thinking of changing docs because during a previous visit he sent me to the urgent care in the same building with a migraine in progress. Nonetheless, he grilled me like he was a lawyer and I was a witness in a courtroom! I was outdone and vowed not to come back! My next appointment was with a nurse practitioner. That was the only reason I returned. She is no longer there. So, looks like I have to start looking.
He's terrible. He'll ask a question and if he doesn't like that your answer doesn't align with the (mis)judgement he's already made, he'll basically say you are lying. If you tell him the adderall is too much and that you want to stop taking it, he'll accuse you of abusing a controlled substance!!! Seriously! I said I don't want it, not that I wanted more. He persisted and said that stimulants were the only treatment and I had no choice. Wouldn't complete paperwork from my employer
patient care is lacking - he gets annoyed easily with patients and there are some issues with staff in the office who are in charge of billing; billing is not prompt and sloppy bookkeeping.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
