My doctor send me to an interventional radiologist and then when she spoke to them they said that i needed to go see another type of surgeon. Straightforward right? So this doctor at VIVA sets up an appointment for me at interventional radiology to charge me a copay and bill my insurance to tell me i needed to see other type of doctor. They then refused to refund my copay for a service they knew they wouldn’t perform in advance. They’re crooks, beware. Go somewhere else where they don’t take your money for nothing.
I have had an absolutely miserable experience with the VIVA. My initial consultation was amazing with Dr Hijaz and the practitioner Carol. They were so kind and promised me everything. I asked them if I could get my procedure done by the end of the year and they said yes. They asked me to have an MRI. MRI appointments were backed up so I called VIVA to see if an MRI at the beginning of December would be okay and I would still be able to have my procedure by the end of the year. I explained that I was having to cancel my hysterectomy and that I was choosing VIVA and I needed to know that they could see me this year and they said yes. I was told that I needed to have my MRI done more quickly. So I called everywhere and scheduled it for the next day. (Beginning of November). Then I called the next week to make sure that they had received my results (and it's very difficult to get through to anyone. You can leave messages but they're not always returned.) I was told that they could not schedule me an appointment because I had not had my MRI yet and I called back and told them that I had had it and that I had left a message and that I would like to schedule my follow up appointments. They scheduled me a follow-up appointment for the beginning of December....4 weeks later, just to tell me the results. I explained that I had been told all I needed to do was have the MRI and then they were going to schedule my procedure and they told me no I had to wait 4 weeks to talk to someone about my results. I told him that wasn't okay I needed an appointment sooner and so they gave me an appointment for today (11/21). I even tried to call daily to see if I could get an appointment sooner but that was not possible. Then today I sat on my sofa for an hour, waiting for them to call. After waiting for 45 minutes I called them and was told that they tried to contact me multiple times and that my window of time had passed and that they could no longer see me. That is a lie. I was sitting there waiting for the call. My husband even took off work and came home to be with me to get the results. I am livid. I have now canceled my other procedure with an amazing doctor and I was trusting VIVA to do their job. But they haven't. It was all a lie when I first went in. What they say to you about when they're going to be able to see you and how quickly you're going to get an appointment is not true. There's no way to leave a message for the nurse or the doctor that you've seen. It just gets left somewhere random and no one calls back. For example I was told that I had to pay a copay at the beginning for my appointment today so I called in yesterday to billing. No one answered and I left a message. No one called back. I would not recommend this practice and I'm really disappointed that I chose them over my other doctor. This was not just one incident of a practice being run poorly but probably about 7 or 8 times that I saw their inefficiency and lack of ability to communicate with their clients.
It was an absolute breeze from beginning to end working with the staff. Everyone was kind and courteous, thank you.
Dr.Ahanchi really cares about her patients and does testing that none of my other doctors would do. My two tests and follow up visit were done within 7 days never have I been able to be seen so quick and the tests were routine not an emergency. If I could give 100 stars I would!!
I would like to praise Virginia Interventional Vascular Associates, in particular Dr. S. Sadie Ahanchi. Her excellent treatment resulted in my swift recovery, and my return to normal activity. Her staff were always professional and accommodating, and I was treated with dignity and care. Thank you to everyone associated with my case, in particular: Jennifer, Stephanie, Wendy, Theresa, Allison, Candi, Casey, Susan and any others I missed.
Great people!
Very kind and considerate, and very professional.
Great experience for being to end
One of the most professionally managed health care organizations for specialty care. Always professional and polite staff from reception to seeing the physician. Like the option of preregistration versus contact with the in office tablet. Rooms are clean and signage is appropriate. With 40 years of health care experience, this is one of my top rated medical offices.
Great! The nurse was at the top of her class. Very helpful and nice. Neither my fiancee or I had to do anything. I would like to request her again the next time I've got to visit. Thank you Roger
