Mammogram was way better (less painful) than the one I had at SWC a couple weeks ago. Biopsy (Monday morning) went fine, however the results were not relayed to me in two days as promised. Today (Thursday EOB) is the end of day 3 and I have heard nothing. UPDATE: It turns out that my T-Mobile cell phone/plan was the problem, not Funkhouser Women's Center! The nurses left messages right on time as they said they would.

Way to make a husband SIT and WORRY for TWO HOURS!! The staff would NOT allow me to go back and be with my wife as she had this scary experience she was going through. She was kept alone in a room and I was NOT allowed to come back with her. Separating families and putting them into trauma is what RMH Sentara is ALL about. I think I will seek a lawsuit. ESPECIALLY on the nurse who denied me entry and said my wife would be right out and I would be back there with her. Well, that NEVER happened. Husband's, families, significant others, be WARY of going here. They are selective of who they will or will not allow back with their loved ones. And they will LIE and tell.you it's because of the radiation. DON'T fall for it. There is absolutely No reason for this. It was funny how an interpreter was allowed to go back with someone not even related to the patient. Your wife is terrified she might have cancer and you make her HUSBAND wait out in the waiting room? REALLY????Instead of being in there with her? I am thankful my wife is okay--but at what cost?

I had a breast biopsy today and the staff were extremely attentive and explained the entire process. Nurse Aimee did my mammogram and assisted with the procedure. She is such a sweet caring person. Thanks for making a difficult situation as pleasant as possible. Donna Heidel
