Elizabeth Alexandra Zubowicz's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Elizabeth Zubowicz is highly experienced, talented, extremely sharp, frank and kind. I recommend her for anyone considering bariatric or hiatal hernia surgery. Dr. Zubowicz performed my gastric sleeve and cholecystectomy in December 2018, when she was practicing in Olney, Maryland. About two months later I experienced complications not due to any surgical error. Dr. Zubowicz made an adjustment to the position my stomach had settled into after swelling had gone down, and also did a dilation. Shortly after this, Dr. Zubowicz moved away from my local area to join Northern Virginia Surgical Specialists. May 2021 I began suffering from bouts of extreme chest pain that my doctors could not diagnose. My gastroenterologist suggested I reach out to Dr. Zubowicz for her insight. I wrote to her, she responded quickly, and we set up a virtual visit. It took her no time at all to give me her belief as to what was happening. Although my known hiatal hernia was being seen on MRIs as, “moderate”, she believed it was the hernia causing the pain. A Nissen Fundoplication was needed to fix the problem. Dr. Zubowicz told me that she was willing do the procedure if I wanted, though understood it was pretty far away for me (1.5 hour drive). It was an easy decision to have Dr. Zubowicz do the repair. As it turned out, the hernia was much more than moderate, completely extended out and had attached itself to the chest cavity and a lung. Dr. Zubowicz spent about an hour just doing dissection and was then able to do the Nissen Fundoplication. She is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend her to anyone considering a bariatric or hiatal hernia surgery.

Dr. Zubowicz is a fantastic surgeon and the whole process couldn't be easier! Highly recommend. (Both me and my husband got gastric bypass within a month of each other by Dr. Zubowicz and things are going great with us both.)

Dr. Zubowicz has been great to work with and very supportive throughout the journey. The staff is also very helpful and easy to work with. The overall process was smooth.

I had the sleeve with Dr. Zubowicz in December 2021. I only had one consult with her because the bariatric surgeon I had been seeing moved unexpectedly. Throughout this process the best word I can use to describe her is impressive. She has a lot of knowledge, which is clear when you talk to her. The surgery went really well which is because of her expertise. Aside from that, she has made herself available for questions I have throughout this journey which is unique for doctors and I really appreciate that. It makes me feel like I am not alone and in good hands. I would definitely recommend her. It’s also really badass that there is a female leading the charge in the field of bariatric surgery!

This lady is amazing! She took me on when my original surgeon left, and treated me as if I had always been her patient. My surgery was a success, scars are very minimal and absolutely zero pain with the incisions…. Her office was very kind to me in my moments of panic and I’m truly thankful for her work. She has given me a second chance at life and I couldn’t be any happier!

Dr. Zubowicz is as professional as they come and a great communicator. She walked me through the whole process on my first appointment and answered any questions I had. I never felt like she pressured me in any direction. She made her self available through email to ask her questions any time before and after the surgery. I’ve never had a Dr. show me that they truly cared about my success and health by their actions before. I could not recommend her more.

Dr. Zubowicz has exceptional communication and professionalism skills. She is very personable and has made the process smooth and understanding. I am thankful that she was referred to me to enhance good quality health for myself, and I would highly recommend her to others.

Dr. Zubowicz is a fantastic doctor. I had my gastric sleeve procedure on 11/26. Her and the whole staff are extremely caring and professional. She always takes her time with me and never in a hurry. Always makes sure my questions are answered. Just a great person and physician. I really can’t say enough good things and so pleased I was referred to her. Thank you very much!
