Mark Andrew Bartolozzi's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Bartolozzi performed colon surgery on me about 6 weeks ago and I could not be happier or healthier. My recovery went smoothly and quickly. The doctor had a fellow surgeon join him in the operating room and hearing that made me feel more assured. I stayed in the hospital for two nights. The doctor visited me each day, and on the second day asked if I would be ok going home. He also called me at home to see how things were going. I found him to be a very skilled, very caring surgeon.

I had already seen two other surgeons before I got to Dr. Bartolozzi. The first one I didn’t trust for some reason right upon meeting him. I asked if I could see my scan and he said it was unnecessary because I had multiple stones. Something didn’t sit right and I paused. The second was a surgeon while traveling back home. We came back to VA and I realized after an attack it was time. Dr. B put me completely at ease! He showed me my scans and explained everything in detail! He didn’t sugarcoat my pain either. He called me a couple days after my surgery to check on me and said there was only ONE STONE!! Just confirmation he was the right man for the job! My husband and I would gladly go back to him again should we (hopefully not) need surgery again! Great surgeon and great man!

I had a very large inguinal hernia Dr. Bartolozzi operated on my hernia and everything went as smooth as silk. He called me at home on "a Sunday" to see how I was getting along. Can you believe it? I could not have asked for better care.

When it became clear that I needed hernia surgery, I immediately contacted Dr. Bartolozzi. He had performed a very complicated abdominal surgery on my wife the previous year. That surgery was so successful that I had confidence that my surgery would be successful as well. I was not disappointed. He was able to exactly explain the problem, the best way to repair it, and what to expect before, during and after the operation. Everything went as planned, I needed very little in the way of pain medication, and I am on the way to total recovery in a remarkably short time. He has also been very sensitive to what I want to do regarding exercise and work, and he helped me formulate a plan that gets me where I want to go, but reduces risk of post operative problems. It is great that we have such a talented surgeon right here in town. No need to go to Fairfax or Washington. I strongly recommend him.

Dr. Bartolozzi is an angel and I am so thankful for him! I am generally quite healthy but had been sick for a couple months. I had lost over 15 pounds. I had been in the ER 4 times. My GI and doctor were unsure but had not ruled out my gallbladder, as I did not have halmark symptoms in there experience. I had more than one doctor suggest anxiety, ugh. I was referred to Dr. Bartolozzi, who took his time and LISTENED to me. He was confident it was my gallbladder. He scheduled surgery in early December (he even moved it up for me as much as he could.) His expertise led to a very good surgery with a great outcome. I felt so much better!!! He called me himself after two days to check on me, which just illustrates his compassion. By Christmas, I was able to eat again and celebrate with my family. At my follow up he made sure I knew that I could call him anytime for any questions or concerns I had. It has been a little over six weeks, and I feel so much better!!!

He explained to me in details about what to expect during my surgery. I just recently had my surgery. On my surgery date Dr. Bartolozzi was very reassuring and confident that the surgery would go well. He's bedside manner is top notch. After my surgery he called me 2 days later to see how I was doing. Wow! Talk about professional and caring... he's one of the best! I highly recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Bartolozzi truly saved my elderly father's life! My father had a complex infected gallbladder at the age of 89. I appealed to Dr. Bartolozzi that if my father continued on the antibiotics with the tube they placed in his gallbladder in IR, it would be the end of him, for sure. He looked at my father and told him you need to work hard for the next week and a half and said, "we will get your gallbladder out." He treated my father as a person and a man who still had his dignity and showed him respect. It has now been 4 weeks since his surgery and I can now say that my father may make it to his 90th birthday next year. I sincerely feel the surgeons that saw my father for the two weeks in the hospital didn't treat him with respect that Dr. Bartolozzi did and were fearful of getting sued so they let my father continue on the antibiotics and it truly almost killed him. I thank God for Dr Bartolozzi, who is an amazing surgeon and a compassionate wonderful man, as well!!

Dr. BARTOLOZZI walked me through the process of the hernias being removed. He ensured that my comfort level was up to my standards and remained professional at all times, I highly recommend him and if I ever had another hernia, he is the one I would call.

Dr. Bartolozzi recently performed a lateral internal sphincterotomy for a chronic fissure. He was very professional and thoroughly answered any questions I might have before the surgery. The day of the surgery I felt 100% better (which he said I would but I was a bit apprehensive) and one month later I am still 100% better. I wish I would have done the surgery sooner. I would highly recommend Dr. Bartolozzi for this surgery and any other surgeries in which he specializes.
