List of Inna Marcus M.D's Reviews
I took my 7 year old kid to see this doctor as my regular doctor is out of town. She seemed very impatient in providing the needed care or service to the patients, she handled my kid like an adult asking questions too fast while examining her eyes and not in a mood to wait until she responded, she seemed to be in rush to leave the room not giving enough time and opportunity for the parents to ask questions or discuss concerns, she may be a good doctor but didn't seem to be qualified enough or have the experience to treat children.
Her credentials are more impressive than the actual care she provides. She has no business treating children. Awful bedside manner and does not even appear to like children - which makes it very hard to watch her perform an eye exam on a 4 year old. She rushes us out every time with little attention paid to the needs of our son who’s been incredibly compliant with his patching routine. My son has left more insecure every time we leave wondering what he had just done wrong to be talked to the way she does. She should stick to adult patients. We will be leaving this practice because of this last experience. She really needs to get her act together or retire. There is no place in medicine for the lack of empathy that she exudes. Be better.

Completely agree with other reviews. She was very condescending (especially for someone younger than myself and to another HCP) and went so far as to call me “desperate” when I inquired about other alternative means of treatment for my daughters condition. If she wasn’t specialized in her area of needs,we would switch. Other than being thorough and a decent diagnostician, she has horrible bedside manners. Telling my daughter (who is anxious) that things are “no big deal” when to her they are, is astounding. She needs a good ten years, a mentor who can coach her on empathy, and maybe some addition classes on interpersonal relationships. Dr. Marcus, if you read these reviews, know that you’re talented, but that does not give you the right to be impatient, condescending, and rude to parents and their young children. You will and are leaving lasting impressions on children with visual challenges and are not making their impairments easier to understand or deal with,Have some compassion
I'm not sure why Virginia Eye Institute still allows her to see children, let alone patients of any age. Horrible bedside manner and made my 6 year old cry because he had a hard time keeping his eye open with a flashlight beaming into his eye (with having eye-sensitive cataracts). They lost my business because of her. I recommend Dr. Peter Goldmann. Stark contract between the two. He is very knowledge and you don't feel like you just wasted your time and money.
I recently had Strabismus surgery with Dr. Marcus she did a thorough eye exam twice before surgery and made sure I was comfortable and it went so wonderful!! For so long I suffered from having a lazy eye which made me so insecure and depressed. With this surgery I have gained my confidence back in so many ways! I’m still healing and they have been by my side every step of the way! If you’re looking for a eye doctor I recommend Dr. Marcus 100%
My youngest two children were seen by the Virginia Eye Institute Short Pump with Dr. Marcus. The staff went above and beyond making us feel welcome at the facility as well provided the proper care for my 4- and 6-year-old. With the help of Tammy, I was to get them both scheduled for the same day which was extremely convenient due to my work schedule. Both Tammy and Shewana were patient and thorough with the beginning part of the exams and Dr. Marcus was very detailed when explaining the exam to myself as she did the testing. Since both children are unable to read the eyechart Dr. Marcus explained the method, she used to determine their prescriptions. Dr. Marcus was very thorough in explaining the changes in their vision since their last examination and answering any questions I had regarding the prescribing of glasses. I will defiantly be recommending the Virginia Eye Institute Short Pump and Dr. Marcus to family and friends looking for pediatric eye exams.
We saw her for a few years but finally had enough of her condescension and negative disposition. She acts impatient and irritated with our child and others we know that used to go to her. She does not listen, and is annoyed when you ask her questions. Take your kid to someone else that actually likes working with children.
I Am a 66 year old man that has lived with a “lazy” eye most of my life. I decided to finally get advice and take action to correct this. I made an appointment with Doctor Inna Marcus with the Virginia Eye Institute. The experience from the initial interview to the surgery was fantastic, as well as follow up appointments. Doctor Marcus was very professional and caring during the whole process. I am appreciative of the care from Doctor Marcus and her staff and look forward to this improving my quality of life.
She is rude to the parents and impatient with the kids. Frankly, I think she has a prejudice and I don’t think she is qualified to practice medicine

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
