Richard W Pei's Online Review Report Card

It's so hard to find a good gynecologist, and trust me, I've been to so many. I have C-PTSD and a complex medical history, so I've been constantly hoping to find a doctor who is the right fit. Dr. Pei is so knowledgeable, he explains everything so you can understand it, he's so respectful of the patient, has a female chaperone in for examinations, if I could give him more than five stars, I would. Everyone at the practice is friendly and helpful and it's such a positive and reaffirming experience. Granted, the reviews mentioning that they have you pay in cash is completely true. There were always some problems with my insurance and I'd have to pay a little bit more, but it's a small price to pay in comparison to the care I get from Dr. Pei. Would I prefer if the business side of things were more efficient? Definitely, but he's a phenomenal physician, so I'm willing to put up with it.

His business is definitely a FRAUD. They will ask you to pay upfront by cash even you have a insurance. Then they billed the insurance same amount to get double paid. Once you asked them to refund the money you paid by cash, it get nasty. They will not answering the phone as much as possible and once they answer it they would said their billing manager gonna contact you. But YOU WOULD NOT receive any call, any check. When you ask for the contact of the billing manager cuz you are sick of calling them over and over again but waiting for a never-gonna-come billing manager’s call, they will not give a any contact. There is absolutely no way if you want your refund back. And beware, if it is a just a first time consultant, that is $120 you are losing. But if you unfortunately did the ultrasound with them as default, it is $500 disappearing! I will definitely sue you if I didn’t heard anything from you back soon. I have argued about this refund 3months. It is freaking disaster.

The office was ever good, but not any more. The staff is not professional, and very rude. Dr. Pei is knowledgeable, but the clinic's way of collecting money really makes patients uncomfortable. They collect too much copayment than they should collect From patients. Not seeing him any more.

Dr. Pei is an excellent OB. He has delivered 5 of my babies, including twins during the pandemic. He has a great bedside manner, very personable and knowledgeable. I trust and recommend him.

Dr. Pei is a superb doctor with accurate diagnostic ability and professional considerations. He has excellent surgical skills due to his several years of plastic surgery training. He performed four operations successfully for me during the past 15 years. I'm very impressed and satisfied with the results. Dr. Pei is the best doctor I have ever seen!

The best doctor I had. (This is my second pregnancy). Very attentive and have a good humor. All staff nice as well. Wait time are longer than expected, but it is because Dr.Pei is seeing patients by himself and a lot of patients would wait for him because he is professional! I am very happy that I found this doctor. Definitely recommend!!!!

Be aware that Dr.Pei doesn’t call or take calls to discuss any results. If you have any concerns about your health find another Doctor because he doesn’t care about his patients and is extremely unprofessional.

I set up my first pregnancy appointment, where I told the receptionist I was looking to do a blood test, and consultation to confirm my pregnancy, and learn new helpful information. This blood test would be able to show hcg levels that would be able to tell me exactly how far along I would be. When i went back for my consultation, the Dr only tried to convince me to get an ultrasound for $165, while I’m only 4 weeks pregnant. He was very sarcastic, and didn’t give any helpful information aside from that. I got up and left, I’m very disappointed, and spent $40 for absolutely no reason.

Absolutely love Dr Richard Pei and his staff at the Herndon office. I delivered a healthy baby girl in October 2017 all thanks to his guidance and support. Unlike other OBGYNs he will not load you with unnecessary information but will only tell you what is needed to be told (trust me this is SO crucial when you are pregnant) He gave me timely advice as to how to take care of my growing body while keeping the baby's developmental needs in mind. I was carrying full term and he asked me if I was okay with getting induced so we have a better chance of having a natural delivery instead of a C-section and I was totally on board. While I was admitted at the Inova Fairfax hospital, he made timely visits to check on me and gave me constant reassurance that everything will be okay - that support was tremendous. Today, I can proudly say that Dr Pei managed to give me a healthy and happy labor that I always dreamed of. I am one of those rare people that actually miss not only my pregnancy but also my stay at the hospital. I will be sure to approach him for all my future OBGYN visits. He is simply the best - highly recommend him! Thank you Dr. Pei!
