Despite arriving to appointments early, I have never been seen less than 30 minutes after my appointment time, and sometimes I have waited over 90 minutes. Dr. Nikki does not acknowledge the extremely long wait. When I asked her, she blamed it on her patients talking to her about too many issues. The last time I went, I was moved to FOUR different rooms to wait. The nurse said "Sorry, Dr. Nikki is running behind today." I said, "That happens every day," and the nurse said "I know." I've asked the front desk when the best time is to schedule so that I am seen on time & was told "There is no best time. The problem is Dr.Nikki." Other reviews for Kingstown Internal Medicine reference her poor time management.One time my appointment started 45 minutes late because a disgruntled patient came in and demanded to speak with Dr.Nikki. I waited to be seen as I listened to him say he was out of refills for his prescription and no one would return his calls. Dr. Nikki blamed it on the nurse practitioner who handled his prescription leaving the practice. Apparently there is no contingency plan for patients of employees who leave. The office is extremely unorganized. They called me and scheduled an appointment for blood work. I fasted for the blood work and arrived to my appointment 30 minutes early. I was seen 45 minutes late. When I asked when I would be getting my blood taken, I was told the blood work appointment wasn't supposed to be for another 3 months. I did not need to come in for blood work and I did not need to fast. Other patient's reviews have stated experiencing this. I notified Dr. Nikki of my visit to the emergency room because of chest pains. Dr. Nikki said perhaps I wasn't wearing supportive enough bras. Ma'am... I didn't go to the ER because my bra didn't fit.There are heartbreaking reviews about Dr. Nikki's fat phobia. I can attest to this. I am a breastfeeding mother. I requested a specific brand of medication because it was tested and declared safe for breastfeeding. Dr. Nikki said "I don't typically like prescribing it because it can cause weight gain." Despite me saying my priority was knowing that the medication was safe for my baby, she felt it was more important that I didn't gain weight.During my physical, Dr. Nikki asked if I have experienced sexual assault, asked if I reported the assault, and proceeded to tell me that if I don't report it, that person is likely to harm others. I sent Dr. Nikki feedback about why I did not report an assault and I stated that it is important to respect the personal choice of victims. I asked that she no longer ask me about this at future appointments. At my next appointment Dr. Nikki told me she disagreed and that it is necessary to ask these questions. I told her my issue is not with the questions, but with the unsolicited, non-medical advice. She went on to say that it is my responsibility as a Black woman to report what happened to the authorities and that if nothing comes of it to write my representatives. I said "I am drawing a boundary. I do not wish to speak to you about this anymore. You are refusing to respect my personal choice and my boundary." She replied, "That's like if a patient said they didn't want me to tell them to stop eating sugar. It's my job to tell them they're eating too much sugar." To which I responded, "Eating sugar and being raped are not the same thing," and left. The entire conversation had NOTHING to do with my medical needs and solely had to do with her personal opinions. It was re-traumatizing and an abuse of her position to insist on telling me how I should respond to assault I experienced, instead of supporting me to process and heal in the way I decide. She did not ask me how I was coping. She was only concerned with if I responded to my abuse in the way that she judged acceptable. This is not trauma-informed care.Unless wasting hours of your time and being forced to listen to the personal opinions of someone on a power-trip are your thing, avoid this place at all costs.

I am rating Dr. Waddell a 5 I've been with her for a long time dealing with my asthma and other health problems wouldn't trade her for anything I have a lot of faith in her and I have recommended her to my family and friends just about my whole family go to her and they seem to really like her She understanding and she tell you like it is and That is something that I like yes so I will give her a high rating

Nikki was my PCP for a few years. No matter how early I arrived for my appointment, I was always seen *very* late. She is also not open-minded or an attentive listener - and bedside manner is very off-putting.I had on an old sports bra once and she declared that I was wearing the wrong size bra bc my boobs were sagging - kept mentioning it throughout the appointment.I'm non-monogamous, and when I asked for a STI screening and tried to tell her about my risk level/tolerance (my partners, our activities, their other partners and their activities, mitigation/contraceptive use, how often I wanted to be tested), she kept interrupting me. She gave me a lecture every time I went about HIV rates among Black women (which I was already well-informed about) and I never ever got to finish telling her my risk level. Eventually I just started lying in this part of the visit every time because she wasn't listening anyway and it prevented another drawn out lecture.My bloodwork was also never complete in one visit - I would list what I wanted her to check and every time something was missing.

It's unfortunate how there is a lack of communication amongst the team. My experience with Nikki Waddell's office has been frustrating and time consuming. One person will tell you one thing and some one else didn't get that message. I came in for blood work, then was told I didn't need it, the was given a different treatment only to circle and need to do it. Since October the response I get is "oh we're new". Lastly I received lab results and a thorough explanation from Dr. Afam over the phone. He broke it down and let me know what corrective actions needed to be taken. Today i was told to come in and get my result and pay a co pay. Now they pick and choose when they can give information over the phone or not. The woman at the front desk never listens and today I seen another individual experiencing the same lack of active listening and being jerked around. Please get it together!

I've been a patient for over 6 years and I love her. She makes me feel like apart of her family. She's a very good listener and very intelligent person. I'm blessed to have her as my health care provider!

Extremely inflexible and not at all a good listener.

Greeted, short wait, discussed positive aspects of treatment and negative outcomes if I do not listen is the truth which I need to navigate the best choices for my health. Staff is engaging and well informed. I feel my data is private and not discussed when I am not there. No one is giggling or chatting about patients, clients or vendors which I have heard in other offices. I appreciate Dr. Waddell’s professional & personal care of my life.

Unfortunately, each time we’ve visited Dr. Waddell’s office the experience with front desk staff has been beyond unprofessional and disappointing. I’m not sure why they are so rude, but I found it appalling the way they sit and openly complain about patients, give nasty looks to teenagers and appear to purposely take their time to address the client. It is very disheartening considering the excellent attention and service that is provided by Dr. Waddell herself. I hope that she can obtain a more professional set of employees who value her practice and support her mission as much as she.
