List of Sarfraz Choudhary's Reviews
5 yrs ago Dr Choudhary diagnosed me with Lyme, and started treating me immediately with the proper antibiotics. I was suffering with being ill for 7 months, and had seen 8 other clinicians... including 2 other infectious disease Drs. Yet all of them totally ignored my symptoms, and referred only to my lab results which all showed everything normal. I'm not exaggerating when I write that I was near suicidal. I was so sick I couldn't imagine continuing to live and feel that way I felt. I had been an athlete for 30+ yrs, but was so sick I was totally physically debilitated. Recovering from the damage of Lyme was a long road. I oh my life to Dr Choudhary. True story!

Dr. Choudhary saved my life back in December of 2016. After extreme fatigue, vomiting and high fevers, I went to the ER and was sent home after being told I had a bad virus & it just needed to run its course. The next day, my condition worsened and I became so weak I could barely walk. My fever was not responding to medication. I went back to the ER and was admitted because I had become septic at that point. I was a medical mystery and they couldn’t figure out what exactly was wrong with me, but I kept getting sicker and more jaundice. One doctor thought it could have been re-activated mono, but it wasn’t. They brought in Dr. Choudhary and he very quickly discovered I had become septic due to a very severely infected gallbladder. I had the more rare Acalculous Cholecystitis, and had emergency surgery ASAP. This experience was terrifying, especially since I was 9 months postpartum with my second child. I will always be so thankful to Dr. Choudhary for saving my life!
In Feb 2011, I had a doctor’s appt w/ Dr. Choudary. I was referred by my PCP based upon blood work results & my symptoms. This was my 2nd time being referred to Choudary. In 2009, he had diagnosed me w/ Lyme’s disease. Choudary asked me for my Rx. I said I was on doxycycline, Zoloft & oxcarbazepine. He asked why I was taking the latter 2 drugs. I said for depression. He asked “What is the most important ...
Need to improve the attitude toward all kinds of patient
This doctor’s office presents like a glorified travel agent with a Lyme prevention product sideline. Choudhary did not thoroughly read my chart and was dismissive of the 5 weeks of fever I had experienced and the two bouts of pneumonia treated by two rounds of antibiotics and high dose prednisone. His response? “Maybe you have seasonal allergies.“ And I do...but not this time of year and they’ve never caused fevers, night sweats, and tremendous fatigue. He also asked that I “come back in three weeks” if I’m still experiencing fevers. Go anywhere else...the minute clinic would be better.
The doctor was very informative, knowledgeable and patient with me.
Please do not see this doctor. I'd give zero stars if I could. Dr. Choudhary is a non-believer in Lyme disease. My visit with him was quite offensive and his behavior towards me was far from kind. Before I saw this doctor, I was seeing a Lyme Specialist, who lives in Lexington VA, which is a 4.5 hours drive for me. After several lab tests and careful examination she diagnosed me with Lyme disease. Because my Lyme Specialist lived so far away from me I wanted to find someone closer to me. Then I had my visit with Dr. Choudhary... The amount of 5 minutes with him was nothing but complaints about me. He told me that I don't have Lyme disease, it's all in my head, and I should see a psychiatrist to treat me for depression and anxiety. Dr. Choudhary refused to help me with anything else. This man clearly had no empathy, no Patient manners, and no proper knowledge and expertise to be an infectious disease physician. I walked out of that office feeling furious and hurt.
Dr Choudhary is indeed a great doctor and knows his field well! A wound turned into infection and he took care of it within days! Not going anywhere else for ID issues!
I have used Dr. Choudhary for a travel Dr. for over five years. I travel frequently for work and they can always fit me in even at last minute for travel consults/meds. All the staff are friendly and professional. They always have the country information handout ready to give me at the appointment. Because they keep good track of my records they can quickly say what needs to be done. I'm always confident that I'm up to date on all shots and have appropriate medications no matter where I go in the world because the office and Dr. Choudhary check carefully. Dr. Choudhary also treated me in the hospital when I came home with a resistant bug once. No other regular Dr's found an antibiotic regimen that worked, but as an infectious disease specialist he was able to do it and get me back on the mend. He expressed genuine care and concern and I've told all my family if I ever get sick after a trip again - call Dr. Choudhary first!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
