If you are fortunate enough to have had your primary physician refer you to Dr. Sophia Lee for a surgical procedure, you hit the jackpot. As for how or where she learned the “art” of being a surgeon, I have no clue. But this doctor has “it”, even for a skeptical, cranky patient like me. A level temperament, always factual and with just a hint of competent sparkle in her eye. And for her technical expertise, I discovered she is a big wow. She began her medical training at Rochester Medical School under the tutelage of legendary teacher Dr. Seymour Schwartz (who literally wrote the seminal book on surgical technique, Principles of Surgery). So, if you find yourself face to face with Dr. Lee in a patient/doctor setting, your are quite literally in good hands. Naw, make that great hands and a great heart. …And the same goes for her terrific support team.

Office staff is confused, don't return phone calls & receptionist asked personal questions (where I worked, phone # and name of emergency contact, etc.) out loud in front of the rest of the patients waiting in the office (information already provided on paper). Isn't there a privacy act? I couldn't gather the basic information I needed from office staff to proceed with procedure (I gave them almost a week) so will find a doctor with efficient/knowledgeable staff.

Dr. Sophia Lee removed a very enlarged and diseased spleen from me in 4/2017. She did this with tremendous skill and patience. There were no complications and I recovered quickly. I also appreciate her compassion and great communication. I recommend her highly!
