David Afram's Online Review Report Card

While I saw Dr. Afram back in 2019, I must say that on my visit for pelvic pains, endometriosis, and recurring polyps, Dr. Afram did not listen to me when I was explaining my concerns and expressing to him the amount of pain I was in on a nearly daily basis on top of having a period every day for multiple months straight. His advice to me was that I don’t have any lesions based off of an ultrasound and if I had lesions, they were minor; it would be better for me to get pregnant before having another surgery; I didn’t need to have my polyps removed; he believes in treating the symptoms; etc. I went straight to a specialist after feeling dismissed and told her everything that was going on with me. The specialist didn’t have to run any tests. She had me schedule for a laparoscopic surgery asap. After that procedure, we discovered issues that needed to be taken care of: polyps, lesions, adhesions, fusions of organs, twisted tubes, etc. So, I’m sure that Dr. Afram is wonderful for regular OBGYN appointments, but I need a doctor who will listen to me when something is wrong, who will be thorough, who won’t be dismissive, and who I feel will care about my health and condition just as much as I do.

I've visited his office a handful of times, and I've never been seen on time. I'm usually waiting 30 min-1 hour before I'm seen for my appointment. I am one to have very high patience, but I always felt like Dr. Afram was rushing me to get out of his office and when I had more questions to ask him, he gave off a condescending/annoyed tone. I unfortunately miscarried right before my upcoming appointment, so when I called to update, they said they would change the ultrasound appointment to a miscarriage followup appointment. You would think that would update on their database, but once I came in for the appointment, each staff that saw me congratulated me on my pregnancy. I had to hold back tears and correct each of them. They all mentioned that my status didn't update on their computers and apologized. Dr. Afram wasn't very empathetic this last visit and still tried to rush me out. The lack of compassion is truly traumatizing, therefore I will be looking for a different OBGYN.

This guy was rushing the whole visit. Didn't answer any of my questions correctly. I rescheduled with another doctor at another practice since he didn't sound knowledgeable or reassuring. What a waste of time that was!

1. Rushed my visit. 2. Did not answer any of my questions correctly. He suggested Vit E and Mag, I asked for strength, and he said OTC is only one strength. He couldn't be more wrong. 3. He couldn't tell me why he recommended the OTC meds. I don't trust this guy’s advice/rec at all! I had to schedule another visit with another doctor—complete waste of my time.

He came in reading off the last doctors notes. Asked a few questions, did a rushed exam (didn’t explain as he was doing it). And then basically said what we would do next and rushed out. Never asked how I was, if I had any questions. I couldn’t get anyone in the office to ask what tests he ordered and why. The staff was rude and condescending. Ultrasound person can’t find ovaries, nurse couldn’t hear my heart beat while attempting to check blood pressure on so many tries. She couldn’t spell any medications or medical conditions and asked me for help. Very odd experience as a new ob patient.

I only went in for a yearly check-up and was instead belittled and brushed aside by Dr. Afram. I had concerns I wanted to address, but the first thing out of his mouth when he walked in was "Still not ready for babies yet?" Referring to my birth control. This was my first time with this doctor and he didn't know my history or wants in this area, which made this comment even more inappropriate. Then he proceeded to make fun of my career and my generation with very outdated remarks. Needless to say, I did not feel comfortable talking about any of my problems and will need to find a new doctor. The appointment lasted a total of 5 minutes and never once was I asked about my history as a new patient.

I have been a patient at the Manassas location for many years. This was the first time I had seen Dr. Afram. His bed side manner was great. He had obviously read through my chart before seeing me. He put me totally at ease. He took his time to answer question, not making me feel rushed. I would highly recommend him as a doctor

He gave two choices for uterine prolapse. Hysterectomy or pessary. Never even suggested an alternative with a Urogynecologist. Kept suggesting I should do a hysterectomy even though everyone knows it's the last resort and I told him about Uterine prolapse in my mother in her late 60's. Ultrasound scanner person said I didn't have a prolapse. Another Dr recommended Urogynecologist.

Dr. Adrian is 100% nothing short of amazing. He is so personable and truly cares/listens to everything you have to say.

My experience with Dr. Afram was beyond amazing. I’ve been dealing with fibroids for over 8 years. Once I finally decided to do something about, Dr. Afram made it possible. He explained everything that was going to happen during my hysterectomy and after. My surgery was not easy but he took his time to insure everything was done properly. My recovery was smooth and my scars have healed beautifully. I highly recommended!!!!
