I believe I was targeted for mistreatment because I’m a woman with a disability that requires me to mask. Front office staff attempted to make me pay OOP for in network care saying my insurance could not be uploaded without a physical copy, it was already uploaded into the EHR. Staff also made smug comments about masking to me, I wear a mask because I have immunodeficiency. Nurse also extremely smug essentially rolled her eyes all through my appointment. Doctor acted as though she didn’t believe my diagnosis and I was just being attention seeking even though my disability was already diagnosed and was being confirmed by an expert at John’s Hopkins and this was provided to her in writing in addition to 6+ tests showing how disabling the condition is. I was put in a position where I had to advocate for myself bc the care at the office was so horrible and then things were written into my medical chart in retaliation.

Dr. Akbary deserves his position in McLean- intelligent, capable, understanding, knows how to convince his patients, effectively knowledgeable, solved my longtime health problem in my first visit (in one sitting).

Dr. is great. Some front office staff are robotic, with little empathy related to an issue with transfer of records and continuity of care under new office. There was also incorrect note that was deliberately entered by some staff members into the system in connection with my phone call. But they did have a positive staff member that was constructive and resolved the issue.

So far-so good. This is a brand new location, so when I visited the phones weren't even online yet. The signage is not visible from 123 (Dolly Madison Blvd). The building is a bit unusual, as it is mostly up in the air on foundational stilts. You likely enter from the Ingleside Ave side, where there is off-street parking, not the Old Dominion Dr side, where there is just street and sidewalk. It is a shared building, with Hopkins' offices being on the 3rd floor. The front desk, and nursing, staff was very friendly. Hoping to have an ongoing positive experience, as I'm very fond of Johns Hopkins overall. This office is just about a mile from Tysons Corner, so really convenient.
