List of Meghann Danielle Kirk's Reviews
I am a retired physician and an informed consumer for healthcare. I was very impressed with Dr. Kirk. She is an excellent physician and the office was very well run.
Dr Kirk was recommended to me by college friends of my brothers. At every appointment, including the one on Thursday 6 April, she was thorough, respectful and ready to assist.
Easy to make appt, good to take care of insurance info and other details a week before by email, check-in was simple. Had to wait about 45 minutes.
Dr. Kirk is a great MD. She clearly cares about her patients and I would recommend Dr. Kirk to anyone.
Clean office and very caring doctor. She was professional and genuinely kind. The staff was also professional.
Dr Kirk is great at listening and an excellent problem solver. She has no issues referring you to other colleagues who specialize in a particular area.
Dr. Kirk is always so attentive and caring. Amazing bed side manor with outstanding feedback on you own personal health and wellness.
The visit was ok but a critical ball was dropped by not getting my referral (to Dr. Chu) into the insurer within the computerized system in a timely manner. Therefore on the eve of my surgery I am faced with having to postpone or pay for the cost of the surgery myself. I am very disappointed with this result. I cannot sign this paper that says I can go forward if I agree to be held liable for the cost of the surgery, the price of which has never been shared with me by either Medstar or my insurance company. What is more, I took all steps requested of me, including going back to my MedStar doctor, Dr. Kirk, to request a re-referral of the referral she’d already made months prior, just so the insurer could have their copy in their system for approval. Evidently, Dr Kirk did not have access to Availity, the system for uploading it to the insurer but said she would find someone who did. I was not made aware of the referral not reaching my insurer until the afternoon of my surgery (and not from my insurer but from MedStar);I could not reach my insurance company to get verification or clarification. Aargh! I don’t see how I could have done more to effect this in a timely manner, and in fact it is not my responsibility. I feel like MedStar let me down and that its system for communicating with its own doctors and insurers is unreliable if not broken altogether. And when the it breaks down, the resulting burden is transferred to the patient, the least empowered person in the system! I am doubly burdened because I had to obtain clearance from my workplace to take medical leave, and now cannot have the long scheduled operation. My medical problem endures because “Availity” is not “available” even the though insurer had previously said the operation would be covered! Who’s at fault? Why do so many people from MedStar contact me but nobody can connect the dots or bridge the weak links in the system? This example should be used to illustrate how not to run a health care system. MedStar, please use it to fix your communications system with your own doctors (to get their referrals where they need to go in a timely way) and with insurers so that these referrals can be tracked and delivered on time by anyone qualified to make or transmit them. Anything less should be deemed unacceptable, and the patient, above all, should not be held accountable for these failures, and deserves an apology when they occur, rather than to be further aggrieved with having to bear all financial burdens, or postpone, etc.. I hope someone will reach out soon to confirm that the referral has found its way to my insurer, that the procedure is covered, and to reschedule the surgery at a convenient time. Sincerely, Thomas Thornton
Dr Kirk is AMAZING! Her staff…just as great! I’m so glad they’re close to my home. Dr Kirk takes her time and addresses every concern. I’ll never leave her. Hope everyone there remains there.
Dr. Kirk is very thorough and empathetic. I have several complicated health issues and she is looking for the best path forward. The back and front staff are friendly and cordial. They also are great about answering the phone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
