List of Richard K Kim's Reviews
Dr Kim is a very good person. We had an in depth visit virtually, where I was able to tell him everything I was going through. He patiently listened, and made sure to properly analyze what I was saying. What is more impressive is that I found myself able to call him afterwards when the prescribed medication wasn't quite working for me. He's always taken my calls between appointments, answered, and been patient and kind. He believes in taking just as much medication as is needed as I work through what's needed, until I don't have to be on them anymore. But I can't stress how much how patient and responsive he is, and willing to listen and work with you until you get where you need to be.
Dr Kim lied to my husband about tapering our daughter off 2 psych meds she was wrongly prescribed by her GP. Instead he put her on 2 more, a total of 4, which changed her into her opposite. This means out daughter no longer Exists, which is horrific.
I've been seeing Dr. Kim for OCD related issues for about half a year now and my experiences have been very positive! He's a very laid back guy and most sessions feel like catching up with a casual friend as much as a psychiatrist. He seems to prefer a mixed approach of medication and therapy based on my experience.
Very surprised to see all of these low ratings for Dr. Kim. He is a great psychiatrist and has always been caring and understanding. I respect his professional opinion, as he has received more than sufficient medical training. As patients and families, we must remember that we are not the clinicians. Doctors can only treat according to the information we provide them, so it must be truthful and specific. All details such as side effects must be reported so the doctor can provide the best possible treatment. With that being said, I highly recommend Dr. Kim!
Dr. Kim just did a psych evaluation with me. He is caring and insightful. He asks good questions. I will return to him if I need to.
I’ve been Dr. Kim’s patient for a few years now, and have found that in every visit he is prepared, recalls our precious conversations, asks pertinent and informed questions, and is always focused. He approaches his practice as both a dedicated professional, and a caring advisor. Our work together continues to evolve as Dr. Kim considers and suggests potentially beneficial modes of treatment including pharmacological, meditation, group and individual therapy, and other relatively new and innovative options. He treats me with respect, asking sometimes tough (but necessary) questions, and is responsive to my inquiries between appointments. I am grateful for his care. Michael
Dr. Kim is thoughtful and easy to talk to. He’s incredibly flexible and his staff is very prompt and helpful in scheduling appointments. When I had to cancel and wasn’t able to make to a few of my appointments, he took the time to follow-up personally with me and make sure my prescription was filled and see if I needed anything. Also I really appreciate the way he uses biblical truth and prayer in our therapy sessions. He’s also so kind in recommending relevant outside resources to help me on my journey. I’m thankful for his insight and guidance during a difficult time in my life. He’s one of the best doctors I’ve found in the area— highly recommend !
I've been seeing Dr Kim for over a year. I have experience with other psychiatrists and Dr Kim is by far the best of the bunch. He is professional, knowledgeable, conscientious and caring. He's always on time with appointments yet never rushed when with a patient. I would recommend Dr Kim without hesitation.
I was looking for a psychiatrist and a psychologist when I met Dr Kim, he prescribed me some medication that actually made me feel worst, but the problem was that he offered therapy as part of his practice, I'm sure that he have no idea of what's therapy means, he had no plan for me and most sessions where about How I felt about him, as he wasn't related to my issues I found pointless to get asked continuously "How do you feel towards me?", In addition he made videos of each session which was quite uncomfortable, I attended several sessions to give it a chance to see where we were heading and I can tell that he gave me absolutely no help to handle my anxiety and life crisis. Stay away from Dr Kim
I recently married my husband and so I wanted to speak to Dr. Kim about his treatment. I came in and he asked me why I decided to come in and I said well my husband is fine and I haven't noticed anything alarming. We spoke and we would like to start tapering off because we have a baby on the way. He said he does not believe in tapering off drugs and so he would recommend another Dr, I found that very interesting since his patient wanted to be off the drugs. So I said fine he said he would write one more prescription for three months so we had time to find a new doctor. My husband went into CVS a week later and he never filled the prescription. He also never sent my husband referrals. Once I realized my husband was acting very weird because he had been going through withdrawal symptoms he finally told me it was because the doctor never gave him his refill. I found that to be so disturbing that I left him a voicemail that my husband paid his fee and so was untilled to the prescription. I also said that his actions were very unprofessional. He called my husband the next morning and said he would fill the prescription for a month if he came back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PERSON pure EVIL!! I work for the federal government and will take every step necessary to report his actions. If you are considering this doctor stay far away.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
